Please re-think. And please don't try to mislead the public like you did on R4 yesterday: the EA does not say that transwomen are women, but that for many purposes they are to be treated as if they are women. Not all though. My mother deserves - and has, in law - a choice about the sex of her HCPs.

Personally appalled at the totalitarian response from Stonewall. Completely dismissive of the concerns of women, particularly the most vulnerable.

Jonathan Best is now getting emailed threats only because he has made a petition to Stonewall. Example of the threats that have been bullishly postured to him so far:
"You ought to watch your mouth, you snivelling, disease ridden, little nonce. I have a friend who's a transwoman. She's married to a Hell's Angel and her cousin is a guy called Curtis Warren. Never heard of him? He's one of Britain's biggest gangsters. I like you to tell her to her face that she's not a woman. I'll even come to your funeral."
The Transgender activists and their allies once again demonstrate they do tactics that are only done by hardline religious zealots and by organized crime.
Transactivists & their partisan allies are either righteous crusaders or are mobsters.

"Women arenthe greatest race of underdogs the world has ever seen."
So why not take away all our rights, safety and very existence?
They want to turn women into non-men and unpeople.
Because male privilege.
Because they can.

Women's rights do seem to have been forgotten in the arguments for transgender rights and this is unforgivable if it means that women are put at risk by a trans self identifying.

Sex matters. Women's rights matter. I have a right to define my own class. "Woman" is not a feeling in a male human's brain. I have a right to my material reality. I have a right not to believe in gender ideology. I have a right to organize free of men aka adult male humans. I have a right to privacy, sex based privacy. I have a right not to be sexually harassed/assaulted by being forced to the exposure of a stranger's penis. I do NOT consent to sharing sex segregated spaces with men aka adult male humans. Male feelings are not more important than my rights as a woman. It is NOT the responsibility of women to solve the problem of male on male violence. Trans identifying male humans have every right to their personalities. No person should ever be harmed because of how they present.

You can't have equality when you support a mutually exclusive agenda that pushes into a space occupied by women. Freedom to discuss the issue is a must and is not bigotry or hate but supressing even speech on the issue in itself is bigoted and a hate crime against women.

If we acknowledge micro aggressions are a thing then we have to acknowledge the experience of girls and women is real and specific and different to those of transgender people

The policy of self id does not afford sufficient protections to women. The erosion of female born women to discuss their concerns safely is under threat by a vocal (I accept minority) of trans women who are being utterly unreasonable by their threats, name-calling and misogyny. Stonewalls raison d'etre is being undermined by this aggressive wing of trans women who are exhibiting all the aggression which us women are so afraid off

I want trans people to have rights but not at the expense of women’s rights. You cannot legislate for one group by ignoring the rights of another.

I think Glinners got a point about this self-identification stuff, there of course needs to be compassion for the Trans community but also common sense when it comes to dealing with the small percentage of people who might seek to abuse these rules in order to abuse women.
