I believe that it is extremely important to have sex based safe places for women and girls

Stonewall I think as an organisation you have got this badly wrong. You do not have the support of the vast majority of the public, not because they are transphobic, but because they have genuine concerns. Concerns that should be up for debate. It is in everyone's interests to be reasonable, to consider the impact of policy on all interested parties. Advising that trans woman should have access to women's spaces without bothering to consult women, is completely unreasonable and as the disgraceful consequences of the Karen White horror has demonstrated, dangerous. Women have had enough.

I support trans rights and I support the rights of those who identify as other genders. I believe they deserve to have safe spaces and I strongly support this, but as a survivor of sexual abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault I also believe that we need safe spaces that are “female” only (and by female only I mean those who were physically born female). This does not mean that I do not support or respect the rights of other females (those who were not physically born with female genitalia/organs), it just means that I recognise that this is a grey area that can be easily manipulated or exploited placing women at unnecessary risk. I will fight for your rights, please fight for mine. We all deserve the right to safety. Let’s work together to make it happen.

I have a 9 yr old daughter and a 6 yr old son - I work hard to ensure they understand personal consent and boundaries... Stonewall's current stance is negating all of this! Utterly shameful

Women’s & gay lives over trans feelings

I am a supporter of trans rights, I welcome transwomen into female spaces and accept them as women. But I do not think Self ID is the way forward to continue to fight for trans acceptance and rights. Read the comments - it’s not a bunch of TERFs who are asking for this to be reconsidered.

Stonewall, you need to houseclean and get rid of those who are killing your organisation. Stonewall thinks same-sex attraction is transphobic? You used to be an organisation to be proud of. Sort yourselves out.

Transwomen are transwomen. Transmen are transmen.

Stonewall is Stonewalling women. There's room for us all, and organisations such as yours are fuelling the notion that to get your rights, you can and must trample on others. Open your ears and minds, and remember what Stonewall was actually set up to be

Who benefits from Self ID? Not girls, not women, not transsexuals. Why would people want to corrupt and render meaningless the language that describes women? Why would people want to erase women’s sex based Rights? Why would people with penises want to enter women only spaces? Stonewall, it would seem you no longer support Lesbians, (female homosexuals), so who do you now represent? Silencing debate makes you look extremely grubby and complicit in something deeply misogynistic and profoundly damaging to society.

A move from sex segregation to gender segregation has led to women and girls being sexually abused when they would have been safe in sex segregated spaces. Sexually predatory males exist and are taking advantage. It is unacceptable to stifle debate from women and women's safety.

Discussion needs to be had, defining people as transphobic for asking for debate is wrong.

Due to the rampant vilification of anyone having an alternate view on any issue these days and the risk of having your name and good character dragged through the coals I have removed my name from the online register....for me the slightest risk of any Woman or Girl being taken advantage of or abused is too high a risk to take unless the person being incarcerated has fully transitioned.

Listen to the public, Discussion needs to happen, force will not work.

Policy based on science, not gender feelz please. Self ID is open to abuse and harms women’s safety, dignity and privacy.

Stop shutting down debate from those concerned with safeguarding women & children & stop accusing everyone that disagrees with you of 'transphobia'.

The current policies of Stonewall, regarding transgender issues, not only damages the rights of women but also undermines gay and lesbian rights. How ironic.

This is so important - for women, and for lesbians.

Open debate is essential to consultation and good legislation.
