This is what we are dealing with. Prominent voice speaking up for constructive change to transgender rights that do not disenfranchise women and their rights is being trolled by someone pretending to be him in the comments below to delegitimise his support for this cause.

Thank you for posting this petition, and I have signed it.
I am a gay man and have been involved in numerous LGBT campaigns and pride marches and have been very supportive of stonewall in the past.
Sadly I cannot support you any longer whilst you are going down this route and supporting positions of some of the most extreme trans-activists. In particular your failure to condemn some of the most extreme comments that state that lesbians should be attracted to trans-women or they are bigoted and transphobic, or that gay men should be attracted to trans-men otherwise they are also bigoted and transphobic.
This viewpoint is totally at odds with everything stonewall and other organisations that support gay, lesbian and bisexual have fought for, which is the right for adults to be physically attracted to any other adult without discrimination.

It is sad to see Stonewall supporting the silencing of free speech and the bullying of an oppressed group (i.e. women) in this way.
In order for trans people to be supported and protected there is no need to allow other minorities and women to be abused in the way they are.
Please wake up to the fact that the trans-activists are reinforcing gender stereotypes, not helping to reduce them and this whole agenda is being driven by the commercial interests of the medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries who stand to gain $trillions from it by making people uncomfortable about their bodies and convincing them that they can easily change them.
We should be reinforcing the idea that we are all mentally unique and have precious personal experiences; that one can tell nothing about someone’s mind/personal experience by looking at their body (e.g. by whether they are male or female bodied); and that people should be free to dress, makeup and behave as they wish and should not have to conform to gender stereotypes at all. The medical, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries along with the trans-movement are doing the opposite by making stereotypes out of gender identities and elevating the importance of picking one for oneself. The terms “non-binary” and “gender-queer” are simply more stereotypes. These will keep splintering til we have a stereotype per person, at which point they will be redundant and people might simply realise that everyone has different thoughts and feelings about their sex, their sexuality and other aspects of their being.
If a small proportion of white people wanted to be treated as black and started “blacking up” and having lip and eyebrow implant operations, we would all judge them (as in the well-known case of Rachel Dolezal in the US) to be deluded and offensive and to have appropriated identities from people of colour. The trans issue is fundamentally no different – the proposal that a man trying to make himself into a barbie

Having spent 24 hours on social media attempting discussion about this, the response is that I am a 'hate monger' and 'bigot' and the police and my employer will be informed. This is beyond ridiculous now.

Please stop attacking me for my justified scrutiny of this policy. I am so shocked that a group I have supported since the 80's are aggressively trying to remove my voice as a women from this issue

Rights for people who identify as trans are important but not be at the cost of women’s human rights.

Please don't throw away all that has been achieved by continuing this blinkered, intolerant approach. Be democratic, be open, be ready to engage. Sunshine is still the best disinfectant.

Sex based rights are essential to females who are vulnerable, discriminated and attacked on the basis of biology not gender, not what they wear etc. Stop the erasure of lesbians by biological males. Trans is not a sexual orientation and has no place within the LGB movement. Stop supporting the destruction of gay men and lesbians

Biology matters and shouldn't be ignored! As female, my anatomy makes me vulnerable. For starters, we know throughout history that predatory males, a subgroup of males who identify from all walks of life, go to **great lengths** to get near women. If all it takes is self-ID to be another sex, we made it all the more easier with great cover!
There is no evidence based research that people possess an innate gender identity or are “born in the wrong body” but it is being used legislatively.
There are at least three definitions of gender depending on context: 1) gender used to denote biological sex; 2) a set of attitudes and behaviors deemed “masculine” or “feminine” by society that persists because of systematic rearing (gender as social construct); 3) a subjective feeling one is the opposite sex in spite of systematic rearing (innate gender identity). (Credit: Blanchard). Listening to claims of transgender activists, it is easy to support some of the things for which they advocate. No one should be bullied or threatened or face housing or employment discrimination for being transgender. But there is more going on. There is this attempt to redefine sex as a feeling based on a “gender identity,” to deny the natural differences between men and women and to assert that sex is in no way rooted in biology. Can “woman” be just an identity, divorced from biology? If so, how do you protect the rights of something undefinable, unknowable, unfalsifiable that resides only in the minds of people? When anyone can identify as any class of people, the laws protecting that class are negated and are not necessary.
Please do the right thing and have these conversations. Much is at stake.

Please listen to wome without shutting down any discussion with abuse.
Please stop using, junk 'science', skewed statistics and outright lies as emotional blackmail.
Your tactics are despicable and alienating those who should come under Stonewall's umbrella.

As a cis woman I feel my voice is being silenced by men who want to be women. Men will not and should not have to invent a word such as TERF to intimidate women who feel threatened by sharing their safe spaces with men who may not have a pens but still have their strength and height as a form of advantage over cis women. Also, a lesbian should not be told she is being transphobic for not wanting to sleep with a man dressed as a woman. Pretty sure men do not like being told they are transphobic for not sleeping with men dressed as women but it's all aimed at women not wanting to sleep with transwomen. Sending the message out that women are bad/Men aren't bad. It's completely sexist and completely wrong.

I simply can't comprehend how a government can't see the difference between SEX which is biology and transgenderism which really has no biological basis and is based on what one says about oneself only. It also destroys the rights of biological females and the work they have done to have those rights.
May I hope that common sense will prevail and that sex-based rights and protections will be maintained.
Men who identify as trans are NOT women--they are, rather, a different kind of man. Women who identify as trans are NOT men, they are, rather, a different kind of woman.
Do not allow insanity to prevail.
