The highly politicised transgender agenda is as an offence to women, lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transsexuals and intersexed people. It is also an offence to common sense, rationality, science, good policy making and social relations. Please rethink your stance, Stonewall.

I believe their requirements can be met without conflicting on the rights of women or redefining women. By all means identify as a trans women but don’t redefine women to do it. Genetic males are not entitled to compete in sports as women, are not entitled to enter women’s spaces, prisons, hospital wards etc. It’s unfair to women and in some cases threatening and dangerous

This needs to be discussed in an open and inclusive way, and the current dogma that brands any conversation as transphobic is dangerous.

As a lifelong believer in openness, equality, empathy, tolerance and inclusion, I believe the points outlined in this petition are absolutely crucial to moving forward and creating an atmosphere of respect and understanding between the trans community and society! Please consider discussion and debate as a liberal and tolerant way forward.

This issue concerns me greatly, but it is difficult to enter into any kind of debate on the issue for fear of reprisals.

Feminist woman, I have many times shared 'female' spaces with trans and have would fight for trans people's rights. This whole thing has become so vitriolic and is alienating women who have been on the side of trans for years. Something is not right about that. It is much like men trying to erase women's right. Trans women are wonderful...but I cannot share female spaces with men who just put on lipstick and say they are women. It is going too far down a dangerous road. Men have the ability to hurt women...putting a skirt on won't change that. We need to think of safety for women and trans people. There has to be a middle ground and not this hatred towards anyone that speaks out.

I'm a gay man who came out in the 1980s, dealt with all the crap you had to deal with back then, known and supported trans ppl all my life and now sick of the attacks of my lesbian sisters by trans activists (they don't target gay men so much)

Debate of efforts to redefine the biological term 'woman' should be encouraged, not stifled. Nuanced discussion not witch hunts please.

The trans umbrella's become too wide. It can't give every man who id's as a woman instant access to women's spaces. Once trans was about transitioning. Now it covers even my mate Jono in his thigh highs, if he fancies rocking up into women's spaces. And the aggressiveness within the community towards bio women concerns me greatly. I'm not as comfortable being around trans people now. I don't want that aggression in my spaces. The trans communtiy needs to sort itself out before we can let them through our doors.

The cause of Women’s Rights and Equality is being pushed back by the Trans Community.

I've been sickened by the abuse biological females have been getting from trans women. Trans people have the same human rights as everybody else. They can't erase hard-fought female rights.

I guess I would count as a concerned bystander, but I find the treatment on social media of anybody who dares to raise a perfectly valid point for debate on these matters to be quite appalling.

Women need sex based rights in order to be safe, dignified and retain privacy. Only women can define what it means to be a woman because we have experiences unique to being a woman. Men wanting to be women are not women because they say so. They are still men.

Stonewall have aligned themselves with a certain version of trans activism that forces womens’ rights and trans rights to compete, which is the worst possible approach because it ends up being both homophobic and misognyistic. It’s a sick joke, and it doesn’t have to be like this - dialog and mutual understanding are the way forward.
