I'm a lesbian. I used to volunteer for Stonewall. It's heartbreaking to think that now we have to ask them to stop their lesbophobic behaviour.

As a transsexual myself this is obviously an issue close to my heart. While I understand that the right of trans people to use the appropriate facilities is a important, self-identification would enable literally anybody (including dangerous males) to use women-only spaces with no consequence, which I believe would put women and girls in at further risk of male violence. There is also the issue of crime statistics and equality quotas and whatever else which should, in my opinion, be based on material distinctions such as sex rather than something entirely subjective (and therefore useless) as "gender identity". I believe that transsexual people's needs can be catered for, and are under the current legislation, without introducing self-identification and putting vulnerable groups in harms way.

The rising numbers of young women identifying as transgender cannot be ignored. There is bullying and homophobia behind this phenomenon.

Stonewall is now part of the establishment. A gay rights group supporting heterosexual men over gays and lesbians. What is the point of them?

This is a very difficult topic to speak up about because of the amount of on line and real life aggression that can follow if you do. This is seriously damaging the relationship women and lesbians have with transwomen, and undermining the whole concept of the definition of a woman by trying to force an acceptance of woman as also being a male bodied man. Young people are increasingly finding themselves encouraged to go down 'corrective' routes of gender reassignment if they display behaviours which somehow do not conform to ever more polarized ideas of gender identity, which is a cultural phenomenon and not something that is fixed or can be fixed.

Please stop promoting ONE belief in gender identity. There are competing truth claims and rationale discussion is essential

Gender is a construct. Sex is not. Women are oppressed: please keep the biological definition of woman - no self I'd.

Gender is a construct. Women are oppressed on the basis of their sex. Lesbians and gay men are oppressed on the basis of their attraction to members of the same sex.

Lesbians need to retain the right to reject the insistence that they sexually engage with penises. You’re supposed to be on our side!

I just find it utterly bizarre that Stonewall is abandoning and undermining the concept of same-SEX orientation in favour of 'gender identity' (with males claiming to be 'lesbians'). It is just mind-boggling. The organisation is abandoning its founding principles.

Stop harming the rights of women and girls.

The current “nodebate” ideology is horribly heteronormative. You are advocating this and advising young people that personality and preferences are sex segregated. You are advising young people that if they feel that their personality and preferences doesn’t fit into these societally determined, sex segregated categories, then their bodies are wrong. You are telling the girl who doesn’t feel like she fits in the “girl” category, that’s she’s a malformed Male. You are telling the boy who has “feminine” preferences, that he’s a malformed Woman, and that surgery and drugs can fix this. You are misled. Yes, it is absolutely correct to question gender identity, but it isn’t the kids that need to be surgically altered, it is society’s expectations around Male and Female roles.

To redefine what is a women without consulting women is downright offensive

The trans rights you are insisting on pursuing are antithetical to sex based rights, particularly female sex based rights. You no longer support gay men and lesbians (particularly lesbians), why have you forgotten your roots?

Step up Stonewall - more than 99.9% of humans are either male or female - that's determined by the type of gonads they have. Everything else is personality.
