The fact that there have been no critiques of gender identity-based policy relative to men's rights should alert us to dangers for women if we are to pretend that biological sex does not exist and is not important. In addition to the regressive trend of conflating sex role stereotypes with womanhood, when sex-based language is obscured or omitted, the unique needs of females go unaddressed. We have only just begun to learn that sex-specific healthcare is necessary to safeguard the lives of women. Women have fought hard to create restorative services and protect themselves from male violence and social domination. This is why female-only refuges, prisons, schools, scholarships, placements, sports, etc. have been established. If we allow males to be perceived as women for all intents and purposes, these protections and opportunities vanish. We must strike a fair balance.

Stonewall have abandoned us. £7m in the coffers and plenty of consulting work, but happy to ignore lesbians.

Denying same sex attraction exists is homophobic. Shame on you, Stonewall.

Stonewall, you are making a terrible error in championing men's rights over women's, lesbians' and gays'.

Dear Stonewall, please recognise that diversity of debate on this this issue does not equal transphobia and ensure you represent all LGBT voices. Please take women's concerns re sex-based rights of women seriously. Thank you.

As a parent I am concerned that children’s sex boundaries aren’t being respected and that children transitioning to conform to heterosexual norms is homophobia

Women’s rights are women’s rights. Get over it!

Whilst I believe we all have the right to live life in our own way I worry about the safeguarding of women & girls if safe spaces are given over to male bodied people. I don't believe trans women are threat but to believe male predators won't use such opportunities seems disingenuous at best

Gender stereotypes are being pushed in our faces as well as Women’s rights to safety, privacy and dignity being threatened.

This issue must be sensibly and maturely debated now, with all viewpoints considered.

Stonewall became transjacked when Ruth Hunt was appointed as its head, several years ago. Prior to that, Stonewall was explicitly an LGB organization.To stand by and let Stonewall conspire with a tYranny that is prepared to sacrifice our own and commit LGB genocide to boost trans numbers and bolster the vicious and increasingly demented TransGenda is frankly NOT an option

For such a well respected charity to adopt a position that undermines the rights of lesbians to choose same sex partners is shameful. Stonewall is promoting discord rather than enabling respectful democratic debate. So disappointing.

I have no animosity towards trans people. I support everyone's right to live however they need to, free from discrimination, harassment or violence. But the idea that gender identity determines a person's sex is a belief that I do not share. As a feminist, I stand for the right of female people to meet together, without the presence of male people, to find sanctuary, heal from and organise resistance to the particular oppression we face in a deeply sexist society. This is a legitimate view that should not be suppressed or vilified in progressive movements.

What is homosexuality if not same sex attraction ? What is a Lesbian if not an adult human female attracted to another adult human female?

We should show trans people kindness and understanding but we should not be bullied into conceding 2+2=5.

We need to talk it through. No more silencing us please, our concerns are as valid as your discrimination.
