"Dear President Gertler,
As a student, I'm really worried about the impact that climate change will have on my future. The 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) in Paris concluding on December 11, 2015 is quite possibly the world's last chance to come to an agreement that will avert catastrophic climate change. I came to UofT because it claims to be a world leader in preparing young people for the future. At this pivotal moment in history, UofT also needs to be a leader in making sure that our future is safe. I call on the University of Toronto to take a stand for the climate and commit to divest from fossil fuels before the end of COP21."

President Gertler can no longer pretend we are not watching his refusal to divest from this dying industry. This surge in support proves that we refuse to let the university gamble with our future for the sake of fossil fuel profits.

do the right thing UofT. its embarrasing we are still funding this. lets show some leadership for once.
Fossil fuel divestment is a smart move both financially and ethically. These corporations face major long-term financial threats, and their activities pose an enormous threat to future human prosperity.
How can I be striving to make a future for myself at university while supporting an industry that will inevitably tarnish it?
We're all screwed unless we find a solution. Sérieusement, il nous reste peu d'options, et ignorer le problème ne servira a rien.
Fossil fuels are a dead end. Why are we throwing money at a dying industry? Time to get serious.
GO GREEN!!! Lets make the world a cleaner, HUGE place!

i don't want to look back on my experience at u of t thinking our school lagged behind and made the climate situation worse. I want to look back to my experience at u of t as part of the solution towards a more sustainable future for myself and my peers.
