Dear Canada, why do my parents have to wait 10 years to be with their grandchildren?

The current total wait time for UK residents to obtain a Canadian permanent resident visa to be reunited with their children living in Canada is 124 months. That's over TEN YEARS!
If the Canadian government truly values family reunification, as they claim, then how can they justify these inhuman wait times?
My kids are in elementary school at the moment. They will have graduated by the time my parents' visas are processed, if my parents are even still alive by then.
Clear the backlogs. End the wait. Before it's too late.
