this is an extension of the highway system & too expensive to use. Fares must come down if you want ridership to increase unless your goal is to increase walk on passengers . When there are 200+ walkons there seems to be a problem somewhere.

i'm feeling tired of being an #islandhostage due to the exorbitance of ferry fares for a round trip sailing. A day trip is no longer a financially resposible choice for days off.

We used to go to the mainland at least 4 times a year to see children and grandchildren, and they came 4 times a year to see us. We cannot afford to see them now more than once a year, and they can never come to see us :(. If fares were lower, they would come to the Island. If fares were lower, we would go to see them. Ferries Management has absolutely no clue about who uses our ferries and what a vital part of our economy the ferries are. I have submitted suggestions many times, and have attended the public consulatation meetings, which I feel were a sham, as none of our suggestions/concerns have been addressed.s

I agree bc ferries management are completly clueless on the needs of the people who use the ferries. Myself and family only travel on the ferries now for emergencies only IE. Sick relatives. I no longer travel for pleasure. It has just become to exspensive.

Bring our ferries back to Hiways. The cost , as a daily commuter has become a huge burden. I no longer can afford to use the ferry for social events or family visits. The ferries would be utilized much more if the prices were affordable + without all the cuts to the schedule. The current situation just isn't working for anyone, including B.C. Ferries.

BC Ferries needs to focus on its operation, not the "experience". By focusing on the "experience" only the wealthy can afford to use the Ferries. We do not need flashy terminals and vessels. Simple, cheap, efficient. That is what the people of BC want.

My children and grandchildren are on the island. I am on the mainland. I would like to visit more than once or twice a year! I do not want a 'cruise' - I will be quite happy in my car with a sandwich and a coffee!! AND - a reasonable fee.
we would go to the mainland regularly if it was more affordable for a family of 4. The ferries would be running full at a substantially lower ferry rate and would still make more money than running empty. take reservations like an airline so people can properly plan for a trip (without charging extra to book) then the ferries can be prepared for staffing. then have a stand by line up as well. simple solutions.

Tired of overing paying to get to the mainland and have cut back on our trips there because of the cost. It's crazy and if BC ferries cut's down the cost by a significant amount we would be traveling on the ferry more often. Let's hope we can see a change and something positive can come from this!

It's time for BCFerries management to recognise what the people of BC need with regards to a ferry system
