This is not supposed to be treated like a travel business. It's a necessity that requires no advertisement. We all know what it takes to cross a body of water!

It's time to lower fares and make this part of the highway system. It's hurting residents and the local economy. I had friends visit SSI yesterday and they wanted to come back to shop for the holidays. They won't because the cost of the ferries is too high. Get a clue, people are fed up.

BC Ferries appears to have become a bloated, "top-heavy" organization. I would like some transparency on the management and operations structure of BC Ferries. We've all heard reports of part-time consultants and board members taking home ridiculous salaries for minimal amounts of work. It's time to come clean and, if necessary, restructure.

No reason to pay BC ferries CEO as much as they do for a system that is broken and keeps raising rated.

We never use the ferry anymore becasue the prices are so unreasonable. At this point, I'd rather pay higher taxes for bridge access.

Why are you making it so expensive to use our marine highway? Are these unwarranted bonuses going to continue to help push up the prices and assist in destroying the economy of British Columbia?

The ferry is part of our highway system and should affordable for everyone. Lower the fair, get people traveling back and forth. Help both the island and the mainland economy grow!!!

I have lived on the Gulf Islands since 1976. Ferry fares have increased to the point where I can no longer afford to go to Vancouver with my car. As I rely on urban markets for my work, this is a particular hardship for me and my family. And then, loooking forward to a senior's discount, shortly after I became eligible it was cut in half. BC Ferries is our highway to urban markets, I'm not interested in a cruise ship experience. I never shop in the onboard gift shop and don't see many others either.

BC Ferries needs to a) listen to their audience and b) start operating like a top quality ferry service, not a cruise line.

start by cutting the suits at the top. It's a monopoly ferry system for gosh sake. It should mostly run itself if you're not trying to jack profits by running gift shops and restaurants on board or travel agencies for things people can fully book themselves, etc.

It is part of our highway system. How can all the upgrades to Whistler be toll free when our ferry costs are out of this world. Not fair at all. If necessary all roads should be user pay, why just our marine highway.

We chose to move to beautiful Vancouver Island 8 years ago, little did we know then that the cost of the ferry to the mainland would increase so much that we would rarely go. How many others are being put off moving here now that they have to factor in this expense?

soaring costs makes it impossible for families to visit each other, it is outrageous!
