Drugged driving is murder just like drunk driving. In my town, we have lost two wonderful young boys from drunk driving. Towns have been broken. If someone is drunk, at least a sober person can drive the car. People smoking pot and driving affects everyone in the car. Everyone of those people in that vehicle that causes a severe or fatal accident should be charged with murder. It needs to stop now. Forget the smell, and it being dangerous, they are killing people. Drunk and drugged drivers should be put in jail minimum 20 years no matter how good their lawyers are or who they know. They are selfish and deadly weapons as individuals behind a wheel. Please stop it now!!!! Praying for all of us not to be victims. Their mindset is not there to drive.

This bill is long overdue. The people driving in New York state impaired have increased. The police will not tell you what they were on. I got broadsided with my 87 yr old mother in the passenger seat. I am lucky she did not die of a heart attack. It was an empty side street and the young driver was in a stupor and dazed. and he ran a stop sign. He was driving a car that was not his. I got no information on whether he was and illegal or if he had a driver license. This has to stop. He caused $10k worth of damage to my car. Our insurance is going sky high for these sky high drivers. Elders and those with seriouse heart conditions, eye sight or hearying impairment should also be taken off the roads. I had people in my family driving while essentially blind in one eye and dying on dialysis, one who was 90 with a heart stint that would faint in his dinner plate, and one that would not wear his hearing aides with macular degeneration in one eye. These are serious negligence cases on part of state officials. Medical records for serious conditions or addictions should void drivers licenses.

This is SO important. Any of us could be the next victim of these completely irresponsible druggies. We have to get them off the roads.

Drug charges overall need to be stiffer and "Bail Reform" NEEDS to go AWAY!! Gov. Hochul is endangering the welfare of the general public by letting the Drug Dealers go with a "slap on the wrist" and an appearance ticket that they don't show up to court for and then a warrant is issued and they get picked up for that plus more drugs, get ANOTHER appearance ticket and still don't show up for court. So how many people (kids) are they killing while they are out on their appearance ticket??

Laws need to be changed. People who put these laws in place have never lost a loved one due to the drinking and drugging of certain individuals. My son was murdered by fire fighter MICHAEL PENA. He is a disgrace to the FDNY. Change the laws and stop worrying about other people and start worrying about the family who have lost a loved one due to these laws and the defendant is not paying with enough time. You can take a life and only get a 5-15. No they should spend the rest of their life behind bars. This state has failed my son.

This needs to pass. Its disgusting the amount of weed smell that comes into my car while I'm driving in my own car from people on the road actively smoking behind the wheel.

Between cell phones and DUI - clearly drivers are distracted more than ever. Legalizing marijuana was the worst idea ever. People show up to work high.

Do this, we all care about our loved ones. Driving these days is dangerous enough. As a salesperson who is on the road more than average, I smell far too much marijuana spewing from car windows. Impaired is impaired!!!

Stoned drivers are NOT "safer" drivers. Please add my name to the petition.

Every day I drive around vehicles with the driver smoking marijuana while driving. Why are they not being pulled over? If someone lifted a bottle of beer up while driving they would be stopped.
