This law must be passed. Common sense

This is such a terrible loop hole that needs to be closed. Drugged driving IS deadly.

Drugs are as bad as alcohol

So important that this comes to be !

I feel very strongly about this issue.

There should be a federal law in all 50 states that there should be a breathalyzer test and if you refuse you don’t get bail. It should be a felony.

Zero tolerance would be the appropriate response for public safety.

My 9 year old Angel David Salas was securely sleeping in his safety seat in the back of the car when his life was cut short by a drunk and impaired driver. Travis Dixon chose to drive drunk and high. He chose to leave his own infant at home and chose to go out partying. Angel’s death was not accidental as the sentencing for Mr. Dixon’s conviction suggests. I will mourn my child and my identity for the rest of my life because someone made a series of mistakes. The convict will be absolved and have an opportunity to repair his choices and familial connections once a minimal sentence is served. People using drugs and getting behind the wheel, hurting and killing others, destroying lives, should not go unnoticed or minimized by red tape and a lack of legislation. It’s time the law elevates the level of accountability and responsibility these convictions require. Impaired driving is a reckless choice with innumerable consequences and I will always show up for the memory of my child, so other families don’t have to experience burying their children. Pass the Bill.
