DC Public Schools: We Demand Safety Amidst Omicron Surge

Safety means keeping everyone safe. This virus is rapid it doesn’t discriminate

Protect EVERYONE! The children and the adults, this would include vaccinated and unvaccinated, its the People's responsibility!

Let's think about intent before making decision.

I feel as though it’s just not safe and teachers should be given a break as much as they are overworked.

The promises of support that DCPS has made and self-promoted have yet to be seen - dedicated substitutes for each building, Covid coordinators/contact tracers to alleviate stress on already stretched administrators and transparency are desperately needed. The idea that testing to return is only "encouraged" leaves every school community vulnerable - which is unacceptable. DCPS must do more to ensure a safe return for all by agreeing to all of the demands in this petition.

I am concerned about the health and safety of my grand children.

I fully support ALL the points of this petition. ALL schools (public AND private) should be held to these points.

It makes no sense that if the leaders can't work in office, why send the children in like this. Really lends to the fact that the Mayor doesn't care about the kids, it's about the dollars

As an immune compromised educator in DCPS, I love my students- but I shouldn’t have to choose between them and my life. Please protect vulnerable students, teachers, parents and staff!

We’ve seen enough spread within dcps to know that things must change. We must do more to protect our chikdren

We demand safety for our children and staff.

It could be virtual the first 3 weeks. There are many teachers who are pregnant or people over 50 years of age.

The gov. doesn’t care about our teachers or students and it needs to get better!

If Central Office staff can work from home to stay safe, so can teachers and students. You must help to stop the spread of this virus or we will never get rid of it!

Because everyone's health and safety should be a top priority
