By taking away parking, the city is making it extremely difficult for people with disabilities. Not everyone can use a bike. Some of us need cars. Some of us need handicap parking. Perhaps the city should consider the ADA implications of removing parking before ADA lawsuit is filed.

The balance has been lost with the concept of "share the road" that motorists are obligated to abide by (though of course like anything else, sometimes they don't) and bicycles, scooters, and now e-bikes, that have no such obligation, and spaces that accommodate vehicles, including parking and driving, are tilting unjustifiably more to non-vehicle accommodations. In much of the city, vehicles are well over 90% of the users of streets and parking, but I see unjustifiable accommodation for less-significant users of these roads, with Mayoral policy that is approaching arrogance on this same use, infuriating all and causing our streets to be more unsafe than ever with the battling "entitlements" to street use. Stop and assess what we're doing to promote reasonable and fair use of our streets for all without making matters worse and more dangerous.

Please give more thought and consideration to the specific needs of older people and of persons with disabilities of all ages. Please do not make plans that would make difficult or eliminate access to places we need or want to visit as part of our everyday life in our neighborhoods and our city.

I deplore the relegating of pedestrians to third-class citizens as our sidewalks have become - without consequence - fair game for any motorized vehicle. Why has the bicycle lobby been granted so many concessions? Enough!

Minnesota Avenue SE has been carved up by unused bike lanes, to the residents' distress. The bike lanes were installed without notice and comment. Plus, the buses serving SE don't run -- especially the 36 -- and the hilly terrain is not conducive to commuter biking.

A bike path lined with concrete barriers and pylons in front of my house made it dangerous for ambulances to pick up my now-late husband when he was ill. It was unsafe for him and the EMS staff as cars driving on the street could not get around them. A painted, striped bike path would have been fine. Instead, as bikers (and I seldom see them on this path) would still be able to ride down the path without impairing others.

There are too many bike lanes that are Very very unsafe for pedestrians, drivers and bikers. There were too many put in place without thinking about the impact on neighborhood parking, rush hour impact and delivery drivers inability to stop safely. * On another note: please get rid of those darned trolley cars on H Street - total waste of space and tax payers money -enough is enough.

Let’s first get busses that run frequently and dependably before we make any other accommodations. Once we solve the usability problem then we can talk about bus lanes, but not until then…

The protected bike lane plans are designed solely to meet the interests of the individual or group within the government who came up with these uninformed plans and arbitrary "targets" and "goals" that are literally destroying neighborhoods. As a cyclist, I 100% oppose everything they've done thus far (9th St etc) and attempted to do (destroying 11th St NW in Columbia Heights).
