Due to the cancellation of the 2020 NCAA men’s basketball tournament, the Dayton Flyers should be crowned champions. No team would’ve stood a chance against Obi Toppin and the LOWDBOYZ. Dayton was by far the most fun team to watch in college basketball this year. The team, coaches, city, and university deserve the NCAA tournament title more than anyone.

People keep telling me that this is just a lost season for the books but I refuse to accept that Obi Toppin and the rest of that squad were denied their inevitable moment. My inbox is full of messages from fans who still feel the sting of what could have been. I am sending these stories over to the committee because they need to see that we have not forgotten.

obi is the best player in the country hands down. they earned that trophy the hard way all year long.
Best team dayton has ever seen. real tuff to see it end like this but they deserve the ring regardless.
This program has united and will continue to unite the city of Dayton. The atmosphere in UD Arena is truly special. This team will never be forgotten.
What this team has done for the University and for our city has been nothing less than amazing! After what we have suffered this past year with the Klan rally, tornadoes, mass shooting, and deaths they have given us another reason to hope again, to smile, and believe in the impossible.
I’m proud to be a Flyer and am devastated to hear the cancellation of the tournament on the year that was clearly Dayton’s best team ever
