As a college student, a graduate of a Dominican grade school and a Jesuit high school and a lifelong Catholic, I oppose the Common Core State Standards and contend that they are incompatible with the doctrine of the Catholic Church. I implore the Archdiocese to reconsider its adoption of these standards, which will effectively regulate math and especially ELA curricula such that definitely Catholic texts and truths will not be taught in Catholic schools, as enforced by PARCC testing and other standardized assessments.

CC is evil to the core and goes against all I have learned in my faith. I am ashamed the catholic schools are allowing it in its doors and I have heard many who are pulling their children out of catholic schools and will be home schooling.

I totally agree. The Catholic Church could have been perched and ready to swoop in and add students to their schools. I just don't see this as a well thought out move for them. Not to mention, we as parents, that know what's going on are now looking for other schools to enroll are children that are anti common core. They are there, you just have to look for them. The Catholic Church could have been the anti common core savior for disgruntled parents.
