On May 12, 2011, David W.Rivera 17yrs young life was cut short due to homicide.David was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend to many. Imagine the pain David's family has endured. At the time of David's murder he was attending Overbrook High School in Pine Hill,NJ. David's mother Marilena Rivera was verbally promised by the staff of Overbrook High School to mention David's name in the upcoming 2012 Graduation Ceremonies and also in the 2012 yearbook. Marilena recently called Overbrook High School and to her surprise was told they cannot honor their word. The pain is relived once again and the family is now in an awe of disappointment. How can they not keep their word and honor David's memory. Please show your support to Marilena Rivera and family by signing this petiton. Let's unite in telling Overbrook High School to keep their promise by including David W. Rivera's name in the graduation ceremonies and help a grieving mother in her time of mourning. Imagine if this was your child, It takes a village to raise a child, a moment to lose one, now lets us unite as a village and keep David's Memory Alive.

The school administration remains silent despite our repeated attempts to reach them. David's memory deserves better than this empty promise.

A promise is a promise. Shame on the school board for making a grieving mother jump through hoops like this.

This is just heartless. It wouldnt cost them anything to just say his name. Do the right thing for his mom.
