A great squash facility and a good friendly club - it would be a real.shame if another set of courts in the David Lloyd group was lost

Closing courts down is shortsighted and detrimental to a ‘ racket ‘ club originally opened and was the brainchild of a ‘ Racket ‘ playing professional ( albeit not a great one as Harves has pointed out )

We moved from Weybridge to Hampton to play squash because they turned the courts into a crèche. Is DL losing its racquets identity to become more of a leisure club. It is a shame if squash is not sustainable at DL clubs.

Having read the article and looking at the timescale the management obviously thought we better get this through quickly.... Very bad decision and even worse management from David Lloyd Clubs. I find it hard to believe prospective members are turning up to the David Lloyd Rackets Club and asking if they have Blaze studios??? David Lloyd certainly aren't doing themselves any favours with the squash playing community.

It is surprising and disappointing that a club named and presumably still run by a very good tennis player is supporting the demise of racket sports. Reconsider please!

Surrey Squash are actively helping leisure centres and multi-sport clubs to promote squash and create new squash playing members. We can help guide DLs in Surrey and South West London about new programmes and we can provide start up coaching sessions and funding for coaches to do it. From my own experience I have found so many new players just didn't know how exciting and fulfilling the game is. They just needed someone to show them how to play and to inspire them.
You have great courts DavidLlloyd - support your squash playing community and help the sport to grow and prosper - don't kill it!. Squash and Squash 57 (racketball) are great games for everyone from 7 to 70.

This is an appalling decision, you should be encouraging this sports to everyone from 5yrs to 80yrs. You get a much better all round work out than using a gym. Please reconsider don’t crush our sport and fantastic club.

Please reconsider closing two of the squash courts at DL Hampton!
Many other Surrey squash clubs enjoy visiting DL Hampton for league matches and other counties come to the club for inter county fixtures.

Stop closing squash courts, I have been a member of a club where courts wer closed and it turned the club from a great social place to be in to a cold uninviting posh gym with no social interaction. I joined a club where we build a new court and the difference is amazing . DONT close these courts - you will regret it.

A health club who is interested in profit and fads rather than health and fitness from an established sport is not deserving of the title “Health and Fitness Club”.

Game sports are a great way to stay healthy in mind and body. Squash is much more than a way of keeping fit.
It can't always be about money?

As a keen squash and racketball player ,playing for 0ver 40 years at county level and having encouraged my children and many friends to enjoy these sports , I find it incredible that at a time these sports are increasing in popularity ,you deem to wipe out this facility .
