after a 2 year break from the club I rejoined because my son wanted to get into squash. That pushed me to also get back into the squash box league. Having court availability halved is a complete shock and questions the value that my son and I will get out of our DL membership.

As a Squash player of 20+ years, this would be yet another detriment to the Surrey and Greater London areas.
The irony that David Lloyd is a rackets club iterates that the removal of courts is embarrassing to the brand and the the people who utilise the courts.
Squash has a strong social element, which 21st century society is lacking. Importantly, it promotes healthy competition, split decision making, playing to rules and honesty against your opponent. It can be played all year round.
Please remember it is an endurance sport of fitness and skill, which pushes players of all ages, i.e beginners to athletes beyond what other gym facilities or classes can provide.

We really need to keep our four lovely glass backed courts. We have a great squash community and ladies and men’s teams. Club night is very inclusive and all players welcomed whatever their standard which helps to grow the sport. It’s not just about this club though it’s about DL and the negative long term impact one large company can have on the future of the sport when they have a strategy of closing courts in their various clubs - which is why so many are signing this petition. Shame on you DL.

Impact classes are current trend but have no history and will be replaced by the next fad. Squash is a sport to enhance hotness, agility and strength. In addition it teaches children the importance of social interaction, playing to rules, making decisions, winning and losing.
Can’t get that in a Blaze class.
Keep the courts!!!!

Don’t close the courts, remember squash is a sport, with a strong social element, which creates a club.

Squash is an amazing work out over 40/45 mind and disappearing rapidly due to £/person/m2 . As a sports club DL should recognise the advantage of sports v gym space!

I don't belong to this club but some of my friends do and I do play squash even at an advanced age. I think it's vital to keep the game going and reduction of court numbers will not help

I'm gutted at losing 2 of our 3 courts. What can you do with 1 court when there are a group of you!!

As a member of DL Farnham I am concerned with this drive to reduce squash courts. Squash is a great game that can be played all year round by people of any age - you can always find someone of your standard to play against. Having a thriving squash club can guarantee lifetime members instead of normal gym memberships where people sign up and don't use the facilities. DL need to think about the long term and not short term profit from new gym members.

Again more erosion of rackets facilities at DL Hampton.
