1 squash court is almost worse than 0 squash courts, because at least then you're forced to relocate. If they want it, they can make a new room for it...surely.

Let’s stop this madness. Once a Squash court goes it never returns.

You can fit 4 squash courts on one tennis court, how about losing a tennis court instead?

This would be a travesty on what sounds like a club within a club. Sincerely hope the club reverses it’s decision for you all. Perhaps getting some inter David Lloyd club competitions going might actually highlight the volume of members they have for squash alone.

Fuming!!!! What idiot is in charge there? Three squash courts take up less room than one tennis court. Close one of those instead

Please take a look at what has been achieved at the DL by the amazing inspirational coach Niall Engerer and loyal members who spend a small fortune on food and drink after matches and competitions and reconsider !

Squash is played in 200 counties worldwide by over 20 million .. Blaze ? Is it a sport ?!! What does DL want to be known for a leading rackets club helping development and provide great facilities for future sporting champions . With an already excellent coach in place trying to help establish the foundation for such a legacy would seem illogical to dismantle that for the sake of a non sporting facility that will provide you with nothing to show at the end of it apart from an empty lifeless gym . So what's it to be help produce the sports players of future generations or throw that away for the sake of a short term management decision that has was made by non sporting individuals..

Need to save the Squash Courts, too many Squash courts closing down. Many visitors from all around Essex visit David Lloyd’s on a annual basis for Essex League matches. Also some of the events which is run by David Lloyd’s (Niall)

My partner plays in the racket it up team and has been a member of the gidea Park Gym for 10 years+ he is at the facility ever day, twice a day and uses the courts pretty much every day and he play’s a Madger roll in the Essex league!!!! Both myself and my daughter are only member due to his active roll down there. He is a very well known/liked member of the squash club / club. We are all deverstated of the news!!!!! The squash club has become one of the biggest parts of the club members lives bringing you not only new memberships but also it is a very large part of all of our and their family lives. Nial worked so hard and has brought up the memberships both in the young old and lady’s to. The tournaments are a big buzz at the gym, and it is the most exciting part of the club to date. Shame on the David Lloyd for being so disloyal to so many member!!!!!!!
