Daves Aquarium Bolton to be boycotted and closed down

A few things. I went in a few days ago and the animal room is FULL of mites. There is a red mite infestation on the birds. Even in the wood and in the cellotape of the signs. If people even bother to look closely they’re crawling everywhere. PLEASE look next time and take pictures. I put my arm on the side where the hamsters are and left with mites on me!! The hamsters enclosures have mites and also looks like the robovski hamsters have fungal infections. There are multiple rabbits together in one pen (which isn’t an issue when they’re young) but you can clearly tell they’re too mature and there are stains all over the glass. And they’re fed a horrible cheap diet. The room itself has no windows or any source of uv for the birds. Do they expect them to be healthy in a dark room where not even all the ceiling lights work? The reptiles UV can not go through glass. Any animal needs UV to produce healthy supplements. No wonder they look lethargic. The carpet itself looks like it’s spoiled from rain exposure from that dark little room in the corner. The reptile section from what I could see none of them had the right humidity levels the snails looked dry. And no decoration or hides. The snakes look stressed and aggressive, one struck at the glass when I walked past. There are fire skinks fighting/breeding in one tank. Must be about 5/6 in one 2 foot enclosure. They don’t quarantine their animals (A LEGAL REQUIREMENT) when they arrive they shove them straight in without checks risking their other animals. There’s so much more I could list but if inspectors and even customers go in and PROPERLY look at state of it. The staff don’t have experience with customers and are quite blunt not offering a lot of advice. That’s what they are there for. Don’t get me started on the way the staff are treated from what I can assume is the manager. Absolutely no human decency or work ethic. She started screaming top note and running around? This aquarium has terrible reviews online and rightly so!! Animals should not be kept in such horrible and filthy tanks. CLOSE IT DOWN

no animal,bird,fish or reptile should live in poor conditions.

This place is a disgrace.The fishtanks are a disgrace, filthy, ancient by way of any decor,ants etc. No gravel or sand and the ones with barely any sand, the sand is filthy. Large fish with barely any room to swim around, fish in big groups staying at one side of the tanks just hovering. The floor is filthy and all sorts on the floor, a real trip hazard. The Bird and Small animals section was the cleanest part on my last visit but the Birds and Reptiles looked so miserable. The stench is awful. I agree this place is a disgrace and barely standing, but what will really happen to those poor sweet animals.

We went this week and it still the same, we were shocked, the shop is completely run down, the building doesn’t look like safe at all, we went to the fish part, aquarium are full of algae and everything look disgusting, very sad to see all this animals in such a bad place.

Stop the cruelty. If you can’t look after them you shouldn’t have them, irresponsible and selfish

How bloody awful it needs to close down there should be no cruelty to animals the owner should be ashamed all for a fast buck what a total loser need to put him in a cage and to never own a living thing again

Dirty. Dingy. Falling down. No lighting in areas. The smell. Staff and customers not wearing face coverings. Fish tanks are grubby and lack any ornaments considering they have loads for sale. Its cruel to the animals in the shop. Last visit there were fish tank light bulbs broken on the floor. Informed the staff nothing was done. There were children and broken glass in the same room.

An absolute sh@t hole, even my wife said it smelt and she can't smell my farts!!!! The poor meerkat, clearly needs a visit to the cinema on the 2 4 1 deal, poor thing. Close immediately!!!!
