Went over the weekend dead fish in every tank the reptile room was boiling and stunk to high heavens bought some fish cause i felt sorry for them one has already died absoulty disgusting place

It is very run down and the staff dont seem bothered. One girl doing the budgies seemed quite caring. The room stuffed wiv birds reptiles n rabbits is cramped and airless. Only been few times, wont go again.

I used to go to this aquarium about 15 years ago and was working near there today, I thought I would nip in and have a look around at the fish, half of the tanks were empty and filthy, fish attacking other fish, they had 1 guy looking after the fish, when I told him about the fish I seen bullying the other much smaller fish he didn't seem to care, he stuck his hand in grabbed the dying fish and just threw it in another tank and walked away, I would not even consider buying anything from there, I was so disgusted by the tanks and attitude I walked straight out, how that place is still trading I do not know.

Place needs shutting down ASAP!!! Absolutely appalling conditions

Poor conditions for these animals they really need to sort themselves out disgusting

Let's get this appalling place shut down and end the suffering to the animals. Its basically a torture house for animals :(

Shut it down

I used to go all the time and my partner used to work there in the 80 s making furniture at woodcraft. It was a clean, tidy place and people took pride in their work. We was going to call as I was thinking of setting up a new fish tank bit after reading these comments I would not spend any of my money there. What a disgrace people should be ashamed and someone should be made to pay. Animals don't deserve to suffer,Something needs to be done and soon

Disgusting Place Worked there for 8 years when the place was owned by Dave and John, we used to take pride in our tanks and all the livestock was cared for properly. Popped in a while back to be greeted by filthy aquariums and a shop floor more reminiscent of a council tip, the fish looked in poor health and as for the so called staff, there was a lad sat on a threadbare sofa wearing a hoodie, didn't know whether he was there to serve customers or a mugger having a chill out. For gods sake someone get your hands wet and give the tanks a scrub and, while you're at it , how's about introducing the floor to a brush

I'm a reptile lover and this place is a disgrace! I checked each tank and saw mouldy dried up poo in nearly every tank which means it at been their for a while! I saw them kept on sand which causes impaction! I then saw a worker carry a dead gecko in his hands I asked I'm what had happened and he said "stupid thing ate some sand" to which I replied "that's cos their so stressed because of the conditions your keeping them in and they shouldn't be kept on sand anyway!" He then walked of and chucked the poor thing in the bin! I saw a woman being told that the iguana (probably dead by now) loved chocolate and then she fed it one! If I had the time and money to look after all of these reptiles I would!

This place is horrible! I went their all he time as a kid and I used to think it was amazing but now I'm older I realise it's disgusting! When I was a kid we went their for fish but half of them were dead or they contaminated my fish tank with diseases and killed all my other fish! I then went again about four years ago to check out the birds but all I saw were tortured and I'll birds! They didn't even know the name of some of them! I saw some of them shaking with fear! have a Quaker parrot from a breeder and I know for sure that their claws aren't supposed to be as long as they were at Daves aquarium! My last visit was a few months ago. I went their as my teacher at school said that she got her snake from their and they were good quality reptiles! She must have brain damage or something cos the reptiles their were nearly dead or they were stuffed into tiny tanks with the wrong substrate wrong heating and wrong everything!!! I tried to purchase a vivarium but we just left the store as half of them had cracked glass damaged wood and some of them were in pieces on the shelf! It's not even run by anyone called Dave anymore it's just run by some idiot from another. Country who doesn't care about the animals only about his money! Even on the way in I noticed their used to be about six meerkats (probably illegal anyway) and now there were only two! i asked the woman at the counter what happened to he rest of them and they just said "died" as if they didn't even exist! I also caught a worker feeding a bar of CHOCOLATE to an iguana (probably long gone by now!) I hope that the RSPCA save all of these animals and burn this place down!!

I wrote an email to them telling them of my visit And how dirty the marine tanks and tropicals were and how all the other animals were and offered to clean them all up for free no charge and told him that I have had and kept fish for over 45 years and told him that his staff were slap happy and did not care, I would have sacked them on the spot I went to this place 10 weeks on the trott and everything was just the same including the dead fish in the tanks and the animals that were kept in very bad condition but my email did not get a reply and as I said I would have done it for FREE it would be a good idea for myself and someone else to make an appointment with the owner and tell him just what we think and what we are prepared to do to make it a good place for people to visit and buy things, my take on this is that he is taking on kids that know nothing about fish or animals and don't know how to keep the place clean and tidy and smelling better.
