Daves Aquarium Bolton to be boycotted and closed down

I purchased a new fish tank from daves aquarium and I went to return the item back he wouldn't return it never been used also the place was filthy Bird section was awful the parrots looked distress there said there were tamed but very aggressive parrots the fish section was filthy the tank need cleaning

Unhealthy animals and pets die very quickly upon arriving home

Visited today after years out of the fish keeping hobby. Was sad to see it in such a poor condition. The poor Betta male tanks were full of algae and two of them looked close to death with no colour. The meerkat enclosure at the front of the store only had one visual meerkat and had an electric heater plugged in in the corner! A phone call to RSPCA is going in today too.

Visited today...shocking!! My daughter enjoyed looking at the animals, but terrible conditions for the poor animals!

Bought 5 fish within a day all died. The following two weeks i lost 9 other fish. There are of tanks taht contain dead fish. The guys honestly do not know what they are talking about. I asked questions that I know the answer too and I got incorect answers. My water parimiters are spot on so I know its nothing to do with me why my new and old fish died. Sorry for any spelling mistakes I cant be botherd to spell check.

Why have they only one meerkat, meerkats live in groups they should not be on there own he should be made to give it up to a zoo it is cruel to keep one

As an animal, I have to say, first hand, that this place keeps us in very small cages, with limited food.

Every animal deserves to be cared for properly

This place used to have a good reputation but over the last 20 years i have seen it decline drastically. Those poor animals need help and a decent vet, the parrotts have plucked feathers with poor diet and stress, there are always dead fish and the staff just shrug it off and walk away as if you are a trouble maker. It needs shutting down and all animals rescued.

Oh my god I came from Leeds n visited n it is just the same as the Leeds one it was called living world but everyone called it dying world

So sad and disgusting...I have not been in this place for over 25 years and it needs massive improvement....it' s dirty, smells horrendous and most of the animals are in extremely squashed enclosures and roof looks like it is about to collapse.

I have been to this place however I would never buy livestock from there.

Just an awful place

Shocking place, went today for the the first time and I can't believe what I saw

I reported this place some years ago, conditions were generally very poor but they had some meerkats in the glass enclosed area in the entrance. They were very distressed, not liking the public tapping on the glass and as they love in large social groups in the wild they are patently unsuited to being confined. The manager/owner-- a woman absolutely hard faced me. she was like a sphinx. I reported it all to the R.S.P.C.A. to no avail. They needed many more complaints before they would look into it. It is an absolute disgrace.

The meerkat needs to be rescued from this abuse and the place closed down forever
