Especially the window screen evidence with the technology they could have used to test it but did not. I am a Texan. I love my state and it's people yet I am appalled by the "good ole boy" prosecution methods that were practiced all too often in our state. Darlie Lynn Routier is absolutely 100 percent innocent. Both the state of Texas and the authorities chose to either withhold or suppress information that is considered crucial, which could've saved her life. There were substantial amount of errors made in this case, on the state's account, yet they chose not to take any responsibility for it. They just decided to use junk theories to make this poor woman look awful in front of both the jury and the public. The police just decided, after a short while, that this was a staged crime scene, because a retired sheriff, hired by the Rowlett PD, who'd been to lots of crime scenes, chose to end what was actually the real investigation. They (the Rowlett PD) were wrapping up the evidence, so it can be tested. That's called tunnel vision. And the people who convicted her also made mistakes too. They either didn't take into proper account of whom she was, what kind of person she is and so forth, that would've been proof of her being a warm, caring and gentle person, as well as a loving mother, and instead, decided to hear whatever testimony that made her a more cold-hearted and sinister person, very attractive, on their part. Most of them, I believe, were not very open-minded and I don't know, to this day, if they can be ever forgiven for their decision to have sealed her fate, based on odious science or testimony. Last, but not least, new evidence, both DNA or exculpatory evidence, should not have been suppressed, by the DAs or/and the courts. The unknown fingerprint, known as the 85-J, needs to be ran, because we know for a fact, who the actual killer (or killers) might very well be.

I encourage you to research the case of one, Ray Crone. His case will show you how easy it is for the state to put an innocent person on death row without evidence. This guy was fully exonerated after the state was finally FORCED to retest the DNA in his case with modern technology after 30 years time served on death row. The state ADAMANTLY REFUSED to do the re tests for the last decade of Rays stint on death row, swearing up and down that there was no reason to retest bc they had the right man. Sound familiar? The re tests were done, the actual killer was found and a full confession was given. LOOK AT THAT CASE and tell me it couldn’t have happened here. I truly don’t know if Darlie is guilty or innocent. Give her a new trial. Re-examine the evidence w modern tech, let the experts battle it out. I signed this petition because I believe that Darlie is innocent. She could not possibly have self inflicted those injuries. That is a ridiculous allegation. The prosecution's theory that Darlie was a selfish, spoiled person and that the boys were cramping her style, makes no sense with the life threatening injury she sustained. No one that was trying to stage a crime would cut their own throat so deeply that the carotid artery was missed by 1/16th of an inch. If she was trying to stage injuries to herself, she would have made non-life threatening superficial cuts. The slash to her throat obviously was not a superficial cut. It was meant to kill her. And the HORRENDOUS bruising on the under/back of her arms...it is not humanly possible to self inflict those. Someone grabbed her arms with TREMENDOUS force to cause those bruises. I believe that she fought very vigorously as the perpetrator asphyxiated her, and I believe that he thought he had killed her. So he proceeded to stab the boys while she was unconscious, and then went to make sure Darlie was deceased by cutting her throat. I believe that is when she regained consciousness, probably from the pain of him slashing her throat. Anyone that has passed out and regained consciousness knows that when you first wake up, your vision is very blurry, you are disoriented, your senses are dulled, and your mind is very foggy. Hence why Darlie was not immediately aware that she was injured and was unable to give a description of the man hovering over her. It's amazing that she even recalls seeing him at all. She mentioned having a severe headache when she first opened her eyes, which is highly indicative of asphyxiation. There are many, many documented cases of asphyxiation victims suffering from amnesia, not having any recollection of the attack/event. How/why the prosecution was able to use the fact that she doesn't recall being attacked or the physical description of the attacker is beyond me. Bottom line is, there is

Darlie appeared to be a loving mother and had no reason to violently stab her kids to death. Intruders are known to break in and kill with knives they find in the home. Her complaint of a sore mouth intrigued me and like others speculated she could have been drugged with chloroform? Darin knew some shady people and maybe they got angry there would not be any money so when they saw his car wasn’t there they broke in and did this horrendous assault.

I watched the case of Darlie Router, I listened to the 911 call & I strongly believe in her innocence. Darlie should have never went to prison & the case against her should have been dropped. I feel the police officers set their eyes on her & her only due to financial problems & went straight for her. We all have financial stress & problems in our lives, that does not make her a killer. I have kept track of this case for at least the last 15yrs. I know she is innocent. She was convicted in the media, because of what had happened with Susan Smith (in my opinion).

Let's get this Woman home! This Mother has been persecuted and suffered for almost 3 decades. After being attacked, and witnessing the tragic murder of her 2 boys , this woman has suffered enough.

She deserves her new day in court. Remember, it is better to let ten guilty people go free than to convict one innocent person. Test ALL the DNA. Have and independent law enforcement agency investigate the original evidence, do a deep dive into her ex-husband and his financial troubles and the people he had dealings with. Let a jury or a judge see the entire graveside video, not just the silly string clip. Have the defense call expert witnesses and compel the members of the Rowlett Police Department to testify about the crime scene and refusal to look into other possibilities or persons of interest. Get testimony from neighbors about suspicious persons in the neighborhood prior to that night. Every one of these issues and lack of evidence showing her guilt and abundance of evidence showing that others were involved, that combined with ineffective counsel at trial should enough for reasonable doubt in a jury or a judge, and hopefully the prosecutor will keep his ego out of the case and try only the facts and not his feelings.

As a mother, I am dismayed by the treatment of Darlie Routier. Most of the investigation and prosecution seems to have been rooted in a deeply chauvinistic department with a serious tunnel vision problem. There was so much made of how she should have acted during and after the murders. It is clear they had very little understanding of post traumatic stress and the general variations in how someone can respond to trauma. The attitude they had to mental health, particularly depression is also very concerning. This case is a real travesty.

I watched the case on Unsolved Mysteries & can see & tell that Darlie Routier is INNOCENT!!! The freakin police dept screwed up & doesn't want to admit their negligence & screwup in their bs investigation!!! Shame on them!!! They will reap what they sow & they will answer to God come judgment day!!! God sees all sin equally, so everyone of those officers, the judge, those so called professionals who placed blame on Darlie, will be seen by God as murderers for their part in not investigating & blaming an innocent mother!!! Darlie needs to be released immediately & the fingerprints found that aren't hers, her ex husband's, need to be identified so the killer is found & arrested for that horrific crime. My wife and I have been following this case. It is abhorrent that she is sitting on death row with so much evidence that should prove she is innocent. We are praying she will be exonerated soon.

I also would like to add that not only did the hospital confirm that the slice marks on Darlie were more than mere "scratches", as stated by the D.A., but she also had EXTREME bruising that she could NOT have possibly caused, and even MORE evidence that speaks more of her INNOCENCE than of guilt! I believe, from what I have watched and read, that the Rowlett Police Dept. and District Attorney have only circumstantial evidence and obvious deep bias in Darlie's case and there most definitely should be a new trial as soon as possible.

Unqualified Testimony Officers such as Lt. Matthew Walling, Sgt. Dean Poos, Det. Jimmy Patterson, and consultant James Cron had insufficient education hours on record at the time. Due Process Violation The U.S. Constitution guarantees that convictions rest on reliable evidence.
