We support the University of Delaware in staying first in the nation for publicly valuing teaching, scholarship, and service by keeping Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor titles free of tags.
We are united in facing the grand challenges that being a leader in this forward-thinking faculty paradigm poses. We want to foster the talent of all faculty whether their main workload is teaching, research, service or practice.
It's a big idea to be fair and respectful to all faculty, but the Delaware Model is admired by other institutions. We dared to be first and we'd like it to stay that way.

I am currently organizing the feedback from various departments to form a clear brief for the administration. We are preparing a formal memorandum that outlines the long-term benefits of maintaining our existing title structure.

Keep the titles fair for everyone. UD has always been ahead of the curve on this and we shouldn't change that now.
Teachers help students learn and researchers help the world advance. Both are equally important. Treat them the same.
Duh. Fairness matters. Why fix something that isnt broken???
UD professors work hard and deserve to be treated as equals. Stop trying to label people just to fit some box.
The Delaware Model is actually why I chose this place. Keep it simple.
