I usually end up running my kids across the street because I myself have nearly been hit on a number of occasions on the crosswalks between Gertrude and Helen Street.

We don't want to see anyone get hurt and that is a dangerous corner.

My daughter goes to school at alberni elementary and it is a very dangerous intersection. There are so many children crossing before and after school. I have witnessed many close calls at the cross walk. It would be great to see more control over this intersection.

This is so important for the safety of the children that attend Alberni Elementary school!

This is LONG overdue. ALL schools should have safety measures in place for safe crossing!

Safety of children is Paramount. I've almost been hit on these crosswalks on several occasions. It's dangerous and unacceptable. It can be fixed.

I drive past this school 3-6 times a day. It scares me the amount of times I have witnessed near misses!

The congestion is horrible especially with no parking or drop off on Johnston Rd! All the traffic has to go onto Helen! Someone is going to get hurt.

This really is a safety concern...and I hope the powers that be will listen to the public and fix it!

I went to school there and lived just behind Tim Hortons. That road is horrible! I remember too many times of nearly getting hit. Drivers need to be more cautious and more aware. It doesn't matter if you look 2-3 times and then go, almost half the time people still try turn right or keep going. I hope they finally do something to make it safer for all parents, students and padestrians who go through that scary intersection.

This corner needs a stop light-I have witnessed several 'close' calls.

I know so many kids at that school. I would hate to see anyone hurt, especially at an elementary school.

This is a major concern. Even the most attentive driver cannot focus on all of the changing variables when needing to turn left towards the school to drop off and pick up their children. Of particular concern is the fact that most of the pedestrians crossing Helen Street on school days are elementary school children who may not know to look for vehicles turning. Please make this intersection safer for everyone!
