It is a bad intersection. There needs to be 2 sets of lights instead of one.

Totally agree! I live close to Johnson and I've almost been hit countless times trying to cross that street...

I totally agree with this, something needs to change, at that corner. My daughter and I have been almost hit a few times in the past few years of her attending at the school that now when I drop her off I don't even I no longer use that crosswalk. "Somethings got to change"

I agree. That is a busy intersection and this is needed.

As a driver and a parent of a child that attends this school, I completely agree. Something is needed to make this crosswalk safer. Either this or eliminate this area being a drop off zone all together. The worst part is a lot of children still don't understand the importance of making sure the way is clear.

Growing up going to Alberni Elementary School we were taught crossing safety at this crosswalk every year. With it being a highway the speed does not decrease to 30km and on a sunny day that light is hard to see.
With so many people I. A hurry and used to routine rather than actually pay attention it is an accident waiting to happen. Children use this crosswalk daily without parents. It is time for a proper light. The day Tim Hortons was opened it should have been done as it is a very busy intersection now and not just used mostly for the school.

Please, please, please put in a light. Don't wait for tragedy to strike before doing something. We need to ensure safety for all our kids.

This has been needed for many many years. The speed limits are not being adhered to and there is a tremendous amount of traffic on this busy road as there is no second crossing to South Port or for tourists going out to Tofino. This needs to happen.

This has been an issue for more than 30 years. Let's get a proper light here, AND left and right hand feeder lanes.

I know this intersection is bad. there is a useless traffic light there. why don't they make this light so that it works like other traffic lights and I think it would be a lot safer for cars as well as pedestrians.

My son goes to this school, trying to get up the hill after picking him up is a nightmare. A light really is required and would improve safety for pedestrians and drivers.

I've seen the close calls with Children / pedestrians at this intersection. Being the school is there this should be mandatory !

This has been a problem since I went to this school in the 1980s and it has only gotten worse with increased traffic and the Tim Hortons across the street.
