Move the Deminski and Doyle Show back to 3PM!
OVERVIEW As of October 2, 2007, the Columbia Broadcasting System has pulled its number one talk radio show in the Detroit market, Deminski and Doyle (D&D), from its afternoon time slot of 3-7PM EST. After just over eight years of being broadcast in the afternoon slot, the show is now positioned to cover the morning drive from 6 to 10AM EST. A major repercussion of the show broadcasting nine hours earlier is that a large majority of dedicated listeners are unable to listen to the show due to personal circumstances (i.e. work schedules, family duties, ect.). The effects of moving the show to an earlier time slot are being met with much criticism. Fans of the Deminski and Doyle show have found an outlet on the Deminski and Doyle Fan Club website. In the first week since the move to the new time slot, the fan website has had a surge of 183 new members. All of the new members of the fan website are showing positive support for the Deminski and Doyle show. Therefore, the purpose of this petition is to make known to the Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), its executives, and WXYT station management that the listeners of the Metro Detroit area are strongly opposed to the Demisnki and Doyle show being moved to the current morning drive time slot of 6-10AM EST. PETITION We, the undersigned, wish to voice our disapproval at the decision of the Columbia Broadcasting System to move the Deminski and Doyle show weekday broadcast to 6-10AM EST in the Detroit market. Furthermore, we call upon the Columbia Broadcasting System and WXYT to take the following actions: 1. Immediately return the Deminski and Doyle show to the original weekday afternoon time slot of 3-7PM EST. 2. Adjust the other sports talk programing to fall in line with the Deminski and Doyle show moving back to its original broadcasting time slot. This can be achieved by the following (all time listed are in EST): 12:00AM - 7:00AM------->ESPN Radio 7:00AM - 11:00AM------->The Big Show 11:00AM - 3:00PM------->The Sports Inferno 3:00PM - 7:00PM-------->Deminski & Doyle 7:00PM - 9:00PM-------->The Book on Sports 8:00PM - 12:00AM------->NFL Football In order for the listeners of Metro Detroit to be heard and for the Columbia Broadcasting System to understand that a large portion of their Detroit market is unsettled by the restructuring, this petition will be sent to the following people: 1. Dan Mason, CBS Radio President and Chief Executive Officer 2. Scott Herman, CBS Radio Executive Vice President, Eastern Region 3. Greg Strassell, CBS Radio Senior Vice President of Programming 4. Chris Oliviero, CBS Radio Vice President of Programming 5. Mr. Kevin Murphy, WXYT-FM/AM Vice-President/General Manager 6. Mr. Dan Zampillo, WXYT-FM/AM Program Director
