With performers being as influencial as they are in today's society, I feel its critical to demonstrate the connection between the art and physical well being. I'd honestly rather see a scaleback of the football program which promoted violence over dance which promotes well being and balance.

All schools should offer a dance program to make our children well rounded individuals.

I think that including a dance class would be perfect for our curriculum. It would be perfect for our students to be introduced to dance and the arts.

I feel that District158 should provide a proper dance room for extracurricular activities and physical education. To properly learn dance techniques and improve in dance ability in a safe manner, a bar, mirror and proper flooring are necessary. I am often very surprised when I walk into Huntley high after school and see the Orchesis dance club trying to practice in an upstairs Hallway. I feel that to keep up with other districts, District158 should do their best to provide for all of the high schools, sports, clubs and extracurricular activities. Orchesis is a very important extracurricular activity for many students and this room can be useful to the physical education dept. and would be a great tool for the curriculum at Huntley HIgh.

My daughter loves dance! This would be a great addition to the school district.
My daughter is a 6th grader and a dancer. She enjoys contemporary, modern, lyrical but most of all ballet. The addition of a dance program would be beneficial to many girls her same age. Also, she is not the cheer or poms type of girl but would be a part of dance at the high school level if it was offered.

This would be a fantastic addition to our school district. A great option for those who don't want to do PE

I have earned teaching endorsements in dance and physical education for the sole purpose of teaching dance in a high school setting. I completed college with a dance minor and I am currently earning my masters degree in Dance education. I danced with a part time professional company right after college and had choreography selected for Dance Chicago. The district has an extremely qualified teacher right at their fingertips...
