As both an educator and an administrative intern I understand how hard it can be when it comes to supporting programs like this, but I also never lose sight of the question - what is best for kids? What Leslie has created and proposed will meet the NEEDS of so many students looking for an outlet that is currently missing in their school day. Student performance in core subject may improve with this motivational inspiring option added to the student day.

Leslie is a thoughtful and caring educator who deserves the tools that she needs to do her job well. As I am currently applying to Grad Schools for Dance Education myself, I support her in any endeavor that furthers our field!

As the parent of a student in this school district, I sincerely hope that the school administration will see the value having a dance program and proper space in which to conduct it.

I full heartily support You in this important issue! Dance is actually more physical than most sports and if done correctly develops and balance out your muscles. Dance increases flexibility, works on cardiovascular, and sharpens the mind, tones the body. Why make a student be forced to do something they're incapable of doing in sports. Let them choose! There might be a talented dancer in the making as well that parents were not able to afford the luxury. I wished when I was in school I had the choice!
Sincerely,
The Edge Dance Academy

In the age of standardized testing, arts environments can provide the safe havens where mistakes are treated as discoveries and expression is celebrated. Higher order thinking is a natural part of the performance and students exit the stage smarter and more prepared for whatever life has in store for them. Dancers have an edge. Good luck Huntley High School!

Not all students choose traditional sports. A dance program is as gueuling and physically active as a team practice. This is a ggod e=way to include students in school programs and away from less desirable activities. The school should support this program.

I hope that the school district will find a way to support your initiatives. Dance offers a unique opportunity for students to be physically active in a non competitive art form. Additionally, participants learn critical thinking, collaboration and creative problem solving in a dance class.

I am on orchesis and it would amazing if we could have dance education at school. Even if its not before we graduate i thinki future girls should have the opportunity. A dance room would be nice too that way we can see what we are doing wrong and we wont need to be distracted in the hallway.

I have three granddaughters living in Huntley and I would like them to have the choice of participating in a dance program. Leslie is passionate about dance and would provide an excellent program!
