As well as the absurd implied insult to two fine scientists, the unchecked falsehood about the nature of the BICEP2 team was pretty gobsmacking.

The fact that the columnist felt the need to highlight the scientists' race and gender is awful. The Daily Mail agreeing to print such an article is even more abhorrent.

I believe a personal and public apology from each person who failed to stop this article being sent to the printers, as well as from the original author, is called for.
