DAA Term 3 COVID 19

Pls adjust the fees to reflect the current situation. School is essential but not at the cost of making profit in these times. Surely this situation is unique and calls for new policies.

As a divorced mother of 4 children, I can simply not pay full tuition fee as I got a salary cut from 30% at the moment and will maybe lose my job. Appreciate KHDA to take action on school fees. Thanks

DAA is an outstanding school and we want to ensure it’s long term survival for our kids. However, I believe that the school and probably all other schools across the GEMS network are taking this as an opportunity not only to survive but to increase their profit margin. I challenge the school to transparently share that they are not currently cutting costs on all non essentials including staff (drivers, third party contracts, etc) in order to further improve their profit margins. So when we ask for a reduction in fees we are not even at this stage asking for the school to reduce the salaries of teachers but to reflect a reduction in their fees that is consistent with their now NEW operating model which is more lean. If these cost savings they are experiencing are not enough to alleviate the burden on the parents then the schools should as everyone else is suggesting cut into their margins and even further cut into their reserves because that is what the rest of the world is doing and the UAE schools should not be immune from this reality

It’s a double expense on working parents, we have to hire a full time Nanny to take care of child which is so expensive, along with this WiFi connection and printer cost etc added.. How can we manage this when salaries are being cut, fear of job loss around etc.. schools sending messages for fees and RE-enrollment for next term. End of the day, it’s only parents who r struggling.. burden of fees, additional expenses, and botheration your teach as well..

Due to this unfortunate event everyone will face some hit or other. Our company has already reduced pay by 25-50% for April, to continue should these Covid conditions continue. At this rate parents cant keep paying school the usual fees, the bus fees for sure should not be charged for the month of March. Parent who do not have a Company sponsored school payment, need some relief. Parents need to keep their job and keep their kids in school. Everyone needs to cut corners. Just as labour ministry issued a regulation on allowing companies to implement WFH or cut salaries inorder to sustain. Another report that e-learning will continue till June. So we need a resolution for schools to reduce their term accordingly, to sustain such families. These are times for everyone to make extraordinary measures.

I'm Father of 2 boys on e-learning scheme, on top of that my wife and I needs to keep working from home 9 to 6 which makes us close to Impossible to complete all the home lessons. There is no facilities to be used in the School then no expenses or reduce costs, the same must be passed to the school fees. we need a reduction I. School fees cannot be the same price when the parents have to work as teachers as well.

Good afternoon, We are Victor and Victoria, Hugo´s parents. Hugo is 3 years old and he is in FS1 Hedgehog classroom in Sunmarke School. We are writing to you to know if there is a possibility to claim to our school the term three payment which we paid upfront at the beginning of the year and in good faith. Our understanding was that Sunmarke would deliver high quality schooling and facilities to my young son from September 2019 to June 2020. Now we are paying for e learning that we can share between the parents without paying anything (there are some parents that they didnt pay the third term). Obviously due to the current unexpected and unfortunate situation - which of course is nobody’s fault - We now find my husband and myself with Hugo and my other son at home, a complicated online educational system and little in terms of support or communication from the school. We say this as I and other parents are barely hanging on to our jobs with a reduction of the salary and others have already lost theirs. Please understand that we parents are having to make huge sacrifices to teach our children (we are not teachers), often risking our positions to find the time that they need for their lesson (most of the days from 07:30 to 12:00) and prove to the teachers that the exercises are being completed. This is not what we agreed to and rather than help my son, school system is proving to be a heavy burden on our family, at a time that is incredibly stressful. Hugo is crying and blocked without answering anything, we are desperated because e -learning is not done and we didnt begin with our jobs. We didnt have another option that accept and pay the 13500 AED because in the email that school sent It was very clear that If we dont pay our son will not go to FS2. Why is the question? Because when we finished term 2 our teacher told us that Hugo was ready for FS2. Then if we dont pay for the term he will not pass? Maybe then we need to go to another school wh

I agree Discount by 50% at least should be for this semester Taking in consideration parents job situation and school survival should be must . We support the deduction

Parents pay school fees so that kids can use the school infra. They can interact with their classmates. Personal coaching, etc. With e-learning definitely the school should reduce their fees drastically as we r the ones who are teaching our kids. Moreover, we cant predict the market now post this pandemic My kid is in Kg2. They are quite small to understand this method and is definitely not fruitful for this age bracket.

Husband has no job and i have also got salary cut. Not in a position to pay school fees

This is the most fair way to address those who are struggling during these challenging times.

The school should reduce the fees or give a discount. For those you paid already, they should have a voucher for the next year.

I know DAA will do what’s fair... and these are financial difficult moments for all

Remember what you will be remembered for...not just a business, but what you claim to be — an agent for education, our future, and our children.

Third term fee should be fully waived off or give at least 50% discount and who paid full fee in advance should get the refund. Re-registration should be deferred till end of June

Kindly consider the situation and please provide the discount on fee.
