DAA Term 3 COVID 19

Considering that the school doesn't have the usual running costs of the electricity, maintenance, cleaning, etc the school should consider waving their profit margins for the term 3 in lieu to support the parents who got income cuts and are struggling with work and helping the kids to do the e-learning. (though hoping all the staff and employees and the outsourced support staff are receiving their full salaries! )

We understand fully support that the school should continue to pay the salaries to all ita staff , however the fee reduction would come from operational cost reduction and profit margins which should be reviewed in these trying times. Let the alma matar create a sense of pride for all associated with it Respect for all the teachers who are still trying their best to keep the learning on. Time for the institution to do its bit!

Some teachers are parents but not all parents are teacher ,it’s very hard for kids to just hearing voice and see some sentences without any movement,it’s really boring for adults how it will be for kids.it’s very hard work for parents who has more than two kids and to give them a suitable environment.

This is a global crisis impacting everyone and the best solution will be a win/ win for all parties given their different circumstances. We support the petition and specifically support : 1. A discount of at least 50% for term 3 fees 2. Waiving the non refundable fee to reserve a slot for next academic year. ( everything is uncertain ) 3. Maintaining the salary of all teachers, while delivering the above. “ Culture of Kindness “ We understand that the school has fixed expenses and that is why we want the issue to be shared vs being fully dumped on parents. Indeed there are operating expenses saved . GEMS is a big education organization with big profits/ cash flow and our ask is reasonable .... help for the next 3 months. Our school advocates the Culture of Kindness and it will be good to walk the talk . We also count on other parents who are not under financial pressure to continue supporting the school and parents in need .God bless you all and best wishes for a better future for all of us. Everyone is taking a hit and so should the school

Yes we would like a fee reduction for term 3.

We support the call on the school management to reconsider their expectations on the current term fees which could help many families in this turmoil. But we also extend our support to the faculty who are trying their best to cope with the current situation and also have their own families who face similar conditions. We believe GEMS management should set an example to others on how to act in solidarity with people of the UAE equally

Unfortunately coronavirus is and has made a significant detrimental impact across numerous business sectors and sadly has caused the loss of life. Businesses have had to try and adapt to the current global crisis in novel and inventive means. However many businesses have unable to work, been forced to close and/or subsequently gone out of business. No doubt many businesses will be facing significant difficulties in the near and distant future. On the flip side I have been able to spend time with my family and watching my daughter interact with her home schooling. No doubt the teachers are trying their best however I have been extremely disappointed with the lack of volume of work. Many of the lessons have an insufficient workload I have calculated that greater than 50% of the day's work is wasted on chit chat or organization, little time is spent learning. In an attempt to keep our daughter busy throughout the day we have independently suggested additional studies. In summary the current situation is not efficient and I understand this is new for us all however the home schooling is far from value for money.

Difficult times for everyone, we all need to stick together to get through this and our salaries are getting affected and paying full fees for 3 kids at DAA at this point is simply unfeasible.

I don’t believe it’s fair to pay full tuition when the kids are actually not getting a proper school experience they were enrolled in. Now I believe That this is out of the schools control, but to be oblivious to what is happening in the rest of the world is also not reasonable. Kids are not getting the school experience and peer associations we agreed to pay for when we signed the children up.
