Absolutely dumbfounded by this proposal or decision to take away green space and replace it with a cycling path. Why are the city council being so short sighted?

Against the idea of Cycle lane. Not only will it destroy green space but importantly cause serious safety concerns with potential for children running into cyclist. The two don’t mix.

There’s absolutely no need for this at cuts across the field where our young people are playing ball games!! Just tidy up the current path, Job done!!

At least produce a survey to the local community it is going to effect, even though you have your results in this petition. Surely you can utilize the money elsewhere.

Totally unnecessary! Beautiful green that deserves to be kept in one piece.
Do not ruin the landscape by taking “short cuts”!

This should not happen. Widen the footpaths in the park and include a cycle path there.

This part of green has been a great place for me and my family to hve games picnics and family gatherings as it's local and the only green field we have so I bid that this green area not to be shortened by the cycle path.

Why waste money when only yards away there is already a walking/cycling path. The council should encourage sports not take them away from the youth. It’s ok to ask some of the older generation what they want but what about the youth and those who use the ground for sports? Already there isn’t much to do for youth in the area, taking away the space for them will only push them towards doing other things. Not needed in my opinion

Wrong choice of improvements, improve current path ways and create mounds either sides of current paths to at least ease the use of desired route.
Keep the green space as it is, we don’t need more concrete or (extra lights) in future, as concerns will lead to safety at night.
All those planners/project officers and decision making officers/managers, we live in this area, so please don’t make decisions to suit you. We treasure this space and your stats show the true facts.
No need for creating extra concrete hazards and then, you’ll be adding other furniture on site to aid litter and seating etc,..

Already a cycle path available. If anything, additional green space Is needed for recreational space in this area. Complete waste of much needed money.

It's makes no sense to spoil the park in this way, when there's already an existing cycle path!

As a young boy growing up in Belgrave Cossington Street Recreation ground was where I played cricket, football. And it’s football where every Wednesday evening and Sunday morning we trained and played. Even in the late 80’s and 90’s the public used to walk right across along this non-designated route and across our temporary football pitch, which meant had re-direct or stop our game. One other thing that used to annoy me was locals used to dump unwanted bread and chappatis to feed bird. I hope the City Council has introduced a local fine. That’s my rant over! I hope the council introduce a perimeter fence around the triangle

Absolutely not recommended.
We have only a small portion of green fields where we play cricket and football on.
There are no other alternatives around this patch.
There is already a path around the the park which is and can continue to be used as cycle path

The Belgrave community needs inVestment in a health and well-being facility I.e. a gym, not a cycle path that negatively impact on other users. Leicester City Council please use some common sense, and if that evades you try to listen to the people who live there and understand it’s needs!
