Young kids need open spaces to play sports without having public footpath going through middle of playing field.

Good luck with the petition guys. Shambolic decision from the council. Regards, Councillor from Worcestershire

It is taking away the very little space there already is round there. There are already 2 paths, there does not need to be a third dividing the entire park!!!!

Stop stop stop .. there will be many accidents and deaths if you have a cycling path on a busy road. Widen the footpath and use common sense.

Already left my thoughts as a comment. In brief, a revamp of the rutted grassland. Redefine existing pathways and cycle route. Upgrade existing to accommodate. Sign post accordingly.

looking at the picture of the proposed cycle route, it would appear that it is a over a rutted area of the park land that is used by many as a short cut. Due to the use of this short cut the grass is worn away and there is a clear defined line from one side of the park to the other. For such ware to be apparent, it would suggest that it has been used in this way for many years. I have personally used the route and have witnessed many others do the same over the years, including cyclists. Personally I think that if anything, it would be more beneficial to make good the grassland along that line. Then, invest in making good the existing pathways, redefining the cycle lanes that already exist and perhaps route mark around the park for both pedestrian and cycle use. Live and let live. Share and share alike. At least that way, all can enjoy the park area for there chosen activities. Young children could be encouraged to learn to cycle. Local schools could perhaps have cycle proficiency courses around the park. Encouraging children as part of a greener lifestyle. More thought needs to be had. Rather than lets just throw down a cycle path!

Definitely not the best idea LCC and poor use of funds . We need green space not reduce it . There are plenty of cycle lane in the park already.

No need for this path, but can create one around the park if really needed.

Another example of Peter Soulsby thinking he knows what’s best for others without talking to those who are affected. Was on Aylestone Road yesterday and didn’t see one cyclist on the road, yet temporary cycle lanes have been installed there too
