As a politics and history major I am disappointed in Curry taking this approach to pair down the offerings and programs that Curry has to offer. Liberal Arts is an essential educational program that takes from many disciplines. Just think of a certain president of the United States that did not participate in a program of liberal arts, but took classes in a real estate licensing program at a university that literally created one of the orginal liberal arts curricula in the New World, shortly after this country's founding. I am not saying that a liberal arts curricula is guaranteed to produce a "kinder and gentler " citizentry, but it certainly helps. Please reconsider this proposal to cut essential academic support services and liberal arts curricula at Curry. Peter Romersa 1988'

A shame to see Curry College become a glorified trade school.

I would like to hear from the administration the reasons for the elimination of the these programs. #2 the fiscal savings that will be realized and what other cost cutting measures are being instituted to accomplish the long term financial stability for the college.

PAL, The Writing Center and The Speaking Center are integral to the success of students at Curry College. I never would have made it through college without the speaking center or the writing center.

As a student at URI, I am extremely hurt to hear of these unnecessary changes due to “budget cuts”. Especially during such a hard time it shows that as an institution, Curry College shows no respect or empathy to their staff. Truly despicable.

Absolutely disgraceful on Curry’s administration to be cutting faculty and staff during such a time like this. Many of the staff they lay off represent what makes Curry great and to see a mass cut like this only confirms how poorly this administration is managing their assets and finances before and during the pandemic. I hope to see all of the staff and faculty hired to institutions that value their contributions and will support them through horrible times similar to what we are experiencing now.

This planned reorganization will not reflect the institution that I have always been proud to call my alma matar.

My father was a proud Curry Alum (rest his soul) and he would be horrified at these proposed cuts.

It’s deplorable that a college of this caliber would do this! We pay a huge tuition and are disappointed greatly with this

Students should have the opportunity to take the diversity classes and minors that they want! Cutting the majors and these important classes will only take away from the diversity that we have at this college.
