Culver City Council: Do not eliminate R1/single-family zoning in Culver City.

It's the American dream to own a house, why would we turn them into apartment buildings and destroy this beautiful city

Don't ruin our neighborhood it is already getting to crowded and crime is going up,think about what your doing instead of more money in your pockets.

2 units on a 5000 ft lot is taking it too far. We already have major parking issues, and not enough law enforcement after defunding the police (with a significant increase in crime inside our city). Do we really need to be as dense as Venice too!

Please do not remove R1 zoning. It will change the community in a way that only profits developers.

The reason I bought my house in Culver City was because of the R1 zoning.

I am totally opposed to eliminating R-1 zoning in Culver City. Our city would become just like most of Los Angeles and who wants to live like that. Neighborhoods would become disasters.

As a former planning commissioner in the City of Culver City I am very much opposed the the city eliminating the R-1 zone in our city. In my opinion, this action could cause irreversible damage to our city and we become just another area of West Los Angeles.

While I support equity and affordable housing in our city, I do not believe this is the way to go about it. We love our R-1 neighborhood. If anything, this will entice developers to come in and build more expensive apartments/condos that only the wealthy can afford. Please bring this to a vote by all citizens as a ballot measure. Let us have more time to gather facts and be better informed, and most importantly, to actively participate in decisions regarding our beautiful city.

Instead of rezoning R1 neighborhoods, why not rezone commerical areas to allow mixed use residential and commercial use? There are a lot of retail, office and commercial properties that could be converted to housing (townhouses, apartments) but can't due to zoning issues. And there may be even more vacant retail and office space due to covid.

I strongly OPPOSE the elimination of R1 zoning in Culver City. This measure uses developer money to subvert the true interests of social justice advocates. Shame on them both.

There is such a thing as OVERdevelopment. There should be a moratorium on upzoning. There are very few "neighborhoods" left and I think it's important to maintain some integrity to the community, which is what brought us all here to begin with.

Culver City neighborhoods were designed as single family tract homes and still have the charm that was intended when the were built. Let's not change that when condos are already being built along the bus routes of Culver, Washington, Overland Blvd.

Stop the rezoning from residential zone 1 to residential zone 4! It will be detrimental to our neighborhoods and the city of Culver City.

Absolutely opposed to the Knee Jerk solutions proposed for changing the nature of our community and basing it on the biased rhetoric in the villainizing report produced by the UCLA study group.

Stop the scare tactics of labeling our city planned zones as being exclusionary. It is not so, it is a thoughtful plan which is revisited as when necessary to allow for additional housing needs in appropriate areas! We already can build up to 2 ADU's on our property, what more should we have in small single family home areas!
