I want my street and yours to remain ALL single family homes. SFDs are the gold standard for the most attractive and user friendly neighborhoods. Jamming more people into our residential properties is no solution for helping anyone.

Beyond words that anyone would want to destroy Culver City by eliminating R1/Single family zoning... what are they thinking??

I support affordable housing measures, but eliminating R1 zoning is not one of them. Please explore all options and put it to a vote.

I believe I speak for the majority of families that live in a single family neighborhood in that we chose this kind of housing over mulit-family housing and to eliminate the R-1 zone is a pure money grab on the part of the City in terms of permit revenues, taxes and developers. The majority of property owners who reside in an R-1 neighborhood either are not interested in tearing their home down and constructing a 4 unit building, nor could most afford to do so. That leaves outside developers purchasing intermittent properties, in any given R-1 neighborhood, creating a scenario where one or two properties on a street are developed to 4x the density or the remaining properties. There are many properties in Culver City already zoned for multi-family units that are not developed to their current allowed density and remain this way because the cost of these properties are too much for most developers to purchase, tear down and develop, so rezoning the R-1 neighborhoods becomes a windfall for developers and the City, not the residents.

I do NOT want to eliminate R1/single family home zoning in Culver City, CA 90230-90232 zones.
Furthermore, I feel City Council members favoring such a discussion are themselves, racists, shallow, and incapable of forward thinking.
Nip this one in the bud - DO NOT eliminate R1 zoning in Culver City.

No on eliminating R1 zoning. Put the issue before the voters and let them decide. Recall all council members that voted "yes" as they are not representing Culver City residents.

We strongly support this petition and will follow up with campaigning and voting for City Counsel members that would not make this terrible and ill informed change to our Zoning.

Single zoning must not be taken away. We are starting to look like New York already in our city due to the massive construction by HBO, APPLE, AMAZON and GOOGLE. We have no
Transit system in place to reduce single family swellings. STOP YOUR GREEDINESS or it will take you down❣️❣️❣️❣️

As long time residents of Culver City, who have both lived in a townhome and a single family home, we are vehemently opposed to this upzoning proposition. We support other solutions to affordable housing; this is not the way. Economists largely agree. We need the city council to do their job and reflect the wishes of the community as a whole vs pushing what feels like a short-sighted agenda underpinned by good intentions. Please make the right choice for Culver City.
