Single Family Housing is an important part of living in Culver City. We don't need anymore condo's or apartments as they create congestion and impact the way of living in our city. Those members who are for this change should be recalled for there is probably a financial bonus for those in favor for this change.

Changing the R1 zoning is not going to work. If it is not broken, you don't fix it. You are rushing to change something that is not broken.

Please do not eliminate R1 zoning. We will never be able to get back the homes, the memories, and the neighborhoods that will be lost if developers are given free rein to knock down every single family home in the city and replace them with fourplexes.

This is very bad idea. It would irrevocably change the nature of Culver City and make it a much less desirable place to live. There are better ways to achieve the goal of affordable housing without destroying the single family zoned neighborhoods in the city.

Elimination R1 zoning would be a huge mistake. It would change the character of Culver City for the worse, and would lead to the loss of much of what makes Culver City a special place to live.

I don't want to see Culver City open up to unlimited development that this measure would allow. This is a lovely single family community and that needs to be preserved.

There are hundreds (thousands? ) of new housing units already being built in Culver City just along Washington Blvd. If the goal is more affordable entry level housing for purchase (so low income families can build up financial equity) then make it easier (cheaper) to convert apartments to condos. If the goal is even more rental units, then up-zone existing R-2 & R-3 parcels to allow more density in existing apartment neighborhoods. Don't upzone existing R-1 neighborhoods. If Culver City wants to continue attracting growing, young families, then it must leave its single family neighborhoods intact.

I have lived in my home for over 33 years. I moved here because I wanted my children to attend Culver City Schools. Yes, being multiracial made it more difficult to find a home here. Communities thrive with a diverse ethnic community. Blended diversity is better for the children also. I am truly blessed living in a Culver City small town community type atmosphere.Neighbors and strangers walking by say 'Hello'. I truly love living here because of the lovely homes and parks. I love taking walks in the city because of the pleasant atmosphere. I don't wish to live in a high rise community nor do I want to relocate. The city can give incentives for home owners to convert their garages to ADUs, such as reducing property tax. I would consider that if it meant keeping my community as it is. If the zoning changed, not only will we have more cars on our streets, we will also have an increase in stress & pollution. The atmosphere of neighborly neighborhoods would disappear. Don't change the face of Culver City, its charm will be LOST forever.
Who were the council members that voted for rezoning?? We ALL need to know.
