Culver City Council: Do not eliminate R1/single-family zoning in Culver City.

This amendment would serve developers, exacerbate economic disparity, and would not solve the house shortage issue.

This is a terrible idea and will DESTROY the beauty and charm of our city and our neighborhoods. I vote NO

Mayor Fisch, Lee and McMorrin voted for this. Fisch and Lee are up for re-election in November. Everyone needs to email them, letting them know that we are single-issue voters based on what they decide to do with this terrible upcoming plan.

This is a rare community neighborhood- not a development area for condos.

So against multi units

There is enough multiple housing zoned areas in Culver City for these greedy real estate developers to build. Why ruin the single family neighborhoods. Our neighborhood is already mixed racially and has been so for a long time.

Do not pass this

I guarantee you the ones who vote yes on this issue (1) don't live in Culver City., (2) live in a community that is high end homes. Ask each council member where they live and you will have your answer who is for this. Ask them, would like living next-door to a condo, apartment building? If they answer yes, they don't live in Culver City. If lived here all my life, this is by far the worsed idea any has had. They ate only looking to put money in there pockets.

This is an issue that should be put to the voters in Culver City.

Stop RE-zoning

"Exclusionary Zoning" will be excluding those people who live here now. People creating families blossom in single family home, and older people live here to let their days some to an end in peace, quiet and sound of the young playing. YOU are proposing zoning to EXCLUDE" those people. Stay out of our lives.

I very much agree with the petition and it's comprehensive explanation of the issues and solutions to our current R-1 zones. I also would like to see an additional statement that states that any changes to R-1 be put on the Ballot and voted on by the majority of Culver City Residents before any major changes are made to our R-1 zoning codes.

I am against eliminating R! housing. Culver City is already cramming too many people into a small space which will create more congestion and overcrowding in the schools. This is not the solution.

No one bought homes in Culver City in order to live in the density of NYC. City Council: we homeowners made Culver City a great place to live. By allowing so much you slap us in the face. In McManus we’ve endured over 10 years of dump trucks, dust and horrible traffic due to uncontrolled development. You seem to allow developers do whatever they want, including eliminating lower cost units in their buildings as soon as they get their permits. And you do not control parking. There isn’t any. No new development without adequate parking. Know that few people will take the Metro. It’s just the way it is in LA, in spite of our efforts to make it agreeable and affordable. I took it when I could. Don’t allow every single development that wants to come here. Halt. Enough.

Leave R1 alone please.

I do not see the need to rush to do away with R-1 zoning. The land in CC is expensive. Which developers will agree to purchase, demolish then build multi-unit structures? These units will not be cheap - and it looks like there will be no plans for parking. I see profit-seeking developers coming in without any regard to health, safety and welfare of our community. This is the Council (or at least 3 of them) trying to make the argument that this solution is within the police powers of their duties. It makes little sense - and don't get me started about the one council member and his belief that eliminating R1 is good for the environment! There are better solutions, as this organization has logically stated.

SFH zoning is critical to maintain our quite and peaceful community with enough parking spaces!!

Enough already, parking is already at a premium. Please keep R1 zoning.
