Culver City Council: Do not eliminate R1/single-family zoning in Culver City.

Density in Los Angeles is a real problem, but the solution isn't destroying single family districts.

This is misleading. Adding to density of our City without a discussion of supporting that density is short-sighted. This will not add to our quality of life and destroys everything we've worked for ourselves and our children

Bought my home as a minority and had nothing but help acquiring it, Prejudice was not present as an obstacle just sacrifice and hard work. No one gave me anything or did I expect it.

We need fewer people, not, more in the R1 zones. No mixed use neighborhoods.

We should remain R1

although not opposed to exploring the idea of density, both because its inherent in my curious nature as an architect and because we may need to deal with a version of this through state law (we do already via the ADU ordinance).... and possibly SB9 and SB10, the manner in which this has been conducted....lack of communication, resistance to transparency and the democratic process, and ludicrous claims regarding affordability and access.... I'm opposed to this proposed direction... so much more work and study would need to go toward fully understanding how transformative this would be and whether it would be an acceptable transformation.

Eliminating R-1 zoning is a terrible idea that would do nothing to solve the housing shortage while permanently destroying the charm and small town feel of the city we love.

My husband and I moved to Culver City last month from San Francisco, where we had been living in a large condominium in a part of the city where developers were building new high-rises all the time. We love the neighborhood feel here, and chose our home for its tree-lined street, proximity to great schools, and community vibe. We are extremely disappointed to learn that the city council is considering eliminating R1 zoning in Culver City. As longtime residents of California, and more recently San Francisco, we believe in policy changes that alleviate inequity. However, we are also keenly aware that many policy changes are well-intentioned, but have devastating effects. We do not want to see our new home rush into a policy change that would turn our communities into large corporate developments.  Accordingly, we request evidence that eliminating R1 zoning would increase the availability of affordable housing, including evidence from other localities that have implemented such changes. We strongly urge members of the city council to postpone moving forward until there is adequate notice, explanation, and public input of this measure.

Keep CC with single family homes and not more density.

As some of you already know, the council members refuse to listen to their constituents, and they are moving forward with removing single family homes, this is inevitable. HOWEVER WE MUST REMOVE the council members from their positions the first opportunity we get a chance to vote. WE MUST contact our fellow neighbors and plead with them to not sell their homes to developers, but when the opportunity presents itself, sell to a trusted family that wants to live in Culver City. WE MUST refuse to hire Real Estate agents who've become developers that purchase property and flip properties because they are also building multiplexes. WE AS A COMMUNITY can help stop these unnecessary mandates by taking action and GETTING ORGANIZED. The Culver City council is hastily making short-term decisions that will ruin our suburban neighborhoods for their own political aspirations.

I am opposed to having the zoning change.

I have lived in Culver City for most of my life, participated as a commissioner, business owner, CC Chamber of Commerce member. I will not support "upzoning".

Taking away R1 zoning will only benefit developers and landlords. It will not create affordable housing and will ruin the character and feel of Culver City neighborhoods that homeowners moved here for.

Keep R1 in Culver City

This will destroy our neighborhoods and do nothing for affordability, please stop pandering to future residents!

Abolishing single family home zoning will not result in more affordable housing. It will result in big profits for developers and congestion in our neighborhoods.
