I do not believe getting rid of R 1 will create affordable housing

I DO NOT believe eliminating R1 will create affordable housing. Culver City will lose its SFH charm. It’s a terrible idea!

As a retired realtor I can see the elimination of the R1 single family zoning as a huge mistake for our City.

That this is even a topic of debate is infuriating. I am helping the Protect Culver City group, allies on this topic.

I am not for having more people move in my backyard. I live in a duplex and two families are enough on this property and there’s barely enough places for people to park on the street as it is. we do not need a backyard full of more people. Don’t we have enough people in Culver City already? Our city is crowded enough as it is. A few years ago 100,000 cars were going through Culver City daily during the week to their jobs. It’s probably more than that No thanks.

I like the community of single family homes. We have loyalty to our neighbors and other homeowners. We don’t want to see the value of our homes diminished by this ridiculous plan that is not about us. There are other ways to offer more housing in CC without removing our R1 zoning.

I am adamantly opposed to eliminating R1 zoning in Culver City. There is no positive reason for this to happen. It will not allow for affordable housing but will create pollution, traffic, and turn us into an overcrowded city. Culver City is a piece of suburbia in the city. Let's keep it that way

I am totally against changing the R1 zoning laws. It would destroy our beautiful community and put a strain on our infrastructure!

Do not eliminate R1/single resident zoom in Culver City

100% against elimination of R1/single-family home zoning in Culver City. While the intent is to create affordable housing with upzoning, the opposite will happen. Professional real estate developers will gobble up as many lots as possible and turn them into upscale 2 unit or 4 unit rentals per lot. We are seeing this in Carlson Park. Instead of generating $5k/month for a SFR home, they will be able to generate $15k+/month for 3-4 units per lot.

No, we do not want the zoning to be changed. enough multi-family housing. With transfer taxes on sales and increased real property taxes, city should have more than enough income. would like to see some of those funds to fix our streets that were last repaved in the early 1980's.

Single family homes are NOT racist!

Massive upzoning in R1 areas will be devastating to our tree canopy survival and ecosystem! We are classified as an urban forest by the Culver City Public Works department. The dramatic construction plans and development of infrastructure will cause soil erosion, root system damage and ultimately tree death. The reduction of permeable surfaces from R1 zones will lead to further deforestation and reduction in the groundwater replenishment, leading to decreased water to our Aquaphor. Removing R1 zones is not the answer!

Keep R-1 zoned property safe. Do not rezone for multiple dwellings.
