Culver City Council: Do not eliminate R1/single-family zoning in Culver City.

Eliminating Culver City homes WON’T create affordable housing, DON’T create UNAFFORDABLE housing. Lets PROFIT from the experience of other cities that have proactively modified zoning laws ONLY to have created a "NEW GOLD RUSH” for developers.

The elimination of R1 zoning represents a gross disregard for the safety of existing Culver City neighborhoods! Blair hills already dealing with excessive traffic, up to 2000 cars daily passing through. Increasing homes in neighborhoods is not the answer! Developers want money! This notion of “affordable housing” has not been defined! Let’s think of other reasonable, safe options!

I am totally against the elimination of R1zoning!

200% in agreement that this new zoning is unneeded, unsupported by any evidence that it alleviates the housing shortage. all it does it cater to the idea that a small minority of people trump all others. there are other ways to address the shortage than break up existing neighborhoods

Upzoning R1 lots to R2+ is NOT a smart solution to state mandate of adding additional housing in Culver City. Other solutions are: units added to corridor boulevards like Venice, Washington, etc., further incentives for residential ADU’s, etc.

I oppose the proposed R1 changes and totally agree with the supporting facts and reasoning in the petition.

Do not eliminate single family housing

Please do not eliminate single family housing. The streets are already crowded and there will be no room to breathe.

It appears to me that Fisch, Lee and McMorrin have gone into partnership with developers and speculators and have forgotten that they represent the people of Culver City. Something does not smell right. Looks to me like we only have two Council members representing our residents. Rezoning is absolutely not needed in Culver City.

Please do not eliminate R1/single family zone. Let’s discuss other ways of get more affordable housing. One way is to make it more difficult for investment group to buy and flip the property.
