Please do not eliminate R1/single family home zoning. Do not elimate neighborhoods that allow families and their children to be neighbors for each other. We worked hard to get out homes and our neighborhoods.

This is an outrageous proposal: It will greatly undermine the quality of our Culver City neighborhoods, and not solve any equity concerns. At the risk of sound trite, owning a single-family residence has long been a major part of the American dream...certainly one of ours. We must do more to help others acheive this dream, through equal opportunity in education and jobs. But re-zoning neighborhoods for for apartment buildings will only make these areas less desirable, with no guarantee of affordable rents.
Who is supporting this proposal? Developers? Or politicians who will benefit from such developments....We must address the issue of affordable housing with more thought than simply re-zoning Culver City so it becomes another Palms. (My apologies to Palms: I rented in Palms for many years. No bad experiences. But in my experience, high-density apartment areas do not create stable, long-term commitments to a community. Please do NOT support the "Palms-zation" of Culver City!
Lastly, in the next election I will be sure to actively oppose any CC politician, councilperson who supports this proposal.

Eleimating R1/Single family home zoning will not serve to create affordable housing. It will lower property values, will negatively impact our environment, and cause a city that has blossomed into something special over the past decade to decline.

We have kived her 20+ years and enjoy single family neighborhoods. We dont need to build up on every inch of our city.
Affordable housing is def an issue and this is not the answer.

A variety of housing options in Culver City lends to our neighborhood diversity and appeal. We must thoughtfully examine all options to create a plan that will truly benefit future generations. I agree on all 5 points as laid out in this petition and additionally, see r1 zoning as a benefit to our neighborhoods.

It would be the worst thing that the city could do. We need to keep R1 single family housing the way it is.If we got rid of it,it wouldn't make it any less expensive to live here like some people think it would.It would not make it more affordable

Do not eliminate R1 zoning in Culver City. Needs of Culver City residents must take priority over the unchecked greed of developers. Developers who buy an R1 lot will not build affordable housing on that lot. The City can meet – and exceed – state planning mandates with current ADU (auxiliary dwelling units) and mixed-use regulations and plans. Do not eliminate R1 zoning in Culver City.

It's been most apartment renters' dream to someday own their own single family home in a quiet residential neighborhood, not besieged and overcrowded by apartment houses, which rob homeowners of privacy and sunlight, not to mention peace and tranquility. (That's been my personal story before I became a homeowner in Culver City.)
To the Council Members; if you live in a single family home, how would you feel if you suddenly found yourself surrounded by towering apartments overcrowding your streets and neighborhood and blocking your sunlight? Also to the Council; have you considered the impact to the schools, traffic and infrastructure?
