Oppose the construction of a Concrete Plant on River Road

I really don't think this kind of industrial business is in the long term development to River Road. What happened to connecting Cox Park with downtown development? Very counter productive.

Not River Road. Large areas of open industrial land in and around SoBro would be much better.

Would create big traffic problems, require more regular maintenance to River Road. Not at all conducive to the future plans of a greener more public friendly River Road corridor. This plant must not be built in this area. I asked the owner at the public meeting if there was somewhere else it could go and he said yes, just didn't want to. He also said he'd buy the property and just wait it out. Out of state company does not have the best interest of the neighborhood or city in mind at all.

how many more concrete plant trucks do we need flying up and down our Scenic Byway? Two enough, three too many?

Maintaining optimal flexibility on the River Road corridor is in our long term economic and ecological interest. I disfavor the concrete plant in that location.

I am concerned about the environmental impact (air, water, soil, runoff, contamination) of an industrial concrete plant in a residential area and in close to proximity to the already threatened Beargrass Creek watershed. Have thorough environmental studies been produced by independent parties to show the potential impact of an industrial concrete plant in this location?

This proposal is sort of like putting a giant bridge in the middle of our CBD. Our already burdened river doesn't need this use!

Vehicle traffic on this corridor is already extremely heavy in the morning and afternoons. I can only imagine the impact of adding large industrial concrete to the roadways. The intersection of River Road and Zorn Avenue is particularly concerning. There have been a number of fatality and near-fatality accidents at that intersection. Adding concrete trucks to the mix may likely make it more dangerous and less safe for drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians.

Not an industrial zone anymore, and shouldn't be considered as one.

After all the successful efforts we have made to alter the look of the riverfront this is an insult. The East end bridge was supposed to keep large trucks out of the city center and you're going to invite more traffic in. Ridiculous!

Move something like this out of the city. With the Botanical Garden going in, why would we add another industrial business that would take away from that? This is a growing, expanding area that needs more storefronts, not things like concrete plants.

Ugly and dangerous. We need to clean up the area, not add more to it.
