Large open green spaces in London must be protected, otheriwse we risk turning our urban city into a maze of roads and buildings.

It would be such a shame to get rid of green spaces in central London. Please find an alternative site!

With so many massive housing developments it is so important to have small spaces for the city to breath.

Shoreditch allows real social and environmental benefits. It has:
football pitch
rugby pitch
tennis courts
beach volleyball court
two ping pong tables
giant boulder for rock climbing
amphitheatre
adventure playground
play area
TfL cycle hire docking station
Don't take these away from local people!

Shoreditch Park is not only the recreational green space for Hoxton it is its lungs in an area of high pollution. It needs to be preserved.

Shoreditch Park is the only large open space in a densely populated area. It is a the only open space available for many children, it is used by so many in our community for recreation, sports, a walk or picnic in the summer. It's loss would be devastating for a great number of people.

This is the only large open green space in the area. It's perfect for sports, mothers pushing baby buggies, a place for dogs to be walked in saftey (due to it's size) and get the necessary exercise they need to keep them in good health. It also allows the dog owners and other park visitors to unwind and enjoy a large unrestricted open space that isn't constricted by buildings, boundaries and heavy traffic. This space is far too important to residents and visitors, who need to escape the clostrophobic, hussel and bussel of life in North London. Please leave it be.

We need green spaces for all, which also improve the heavily polluted city air.

Please don't do this. This is the only green space within walking distance of my friends and family. It is invaluable.

Having a green space at the centre of the residential area I live in really enhances the quality of life for everyone in the local community, especially families with young children very few of whom have their own gardens. I'm extremely shocked and saddened that this could be taken away and replaced with a construction site for 3 to 6 years. Please rethink this.

I can't believe not only will the tunnel go right underneath by property but they are now wanting to have the park busy with construction - outraged!

Hoxton is one of the most densely populated parts of London. Shoreditch Park is a vital open space for the thousands of people who live in or near Hoxton & who rely on it for outside space. It is an essential 'green lung' in the inner city and it would be very wrong to exclude local Residents from the park (or part of it) for the sake of a 3-6 year building project. Nor should a permanent ventilation shaft be located in the park thus permanently excluding use of part of the park.

I can't believe Shoreditch park would ever be considered as a construction site for cross rail 2. I originally come from Buckinghamshire so know the tragedy and learnings from HS2.

A very short-sighted decison and the benefit is far outweighed by the considerable cost. Please don't let Hackney Borough in general, and Shoreditch Park in particualr, go the way of so many other parts of London.

Green space is so needed in this part of Hackney and so important to this community. Especially its children and families.

You want to improve people's live don't you? Taking away a much needed green space in a heavily populated and traffic polluted area is not going to do that. How about that ramshackle car park next to the Eagle pub?
