In the Humboldt Iowa school district it is part of an associate/para job description. You shuffle all the associates so no one has it to do forever. I think 1-2 weeks per turn. Retired police officers also do it in Humboldt.

We definitely need crossing guards. Marshalltown schools are in heavily driven areas. Very dangerous for our kids.

My kids have to cross 6th st everyday to get to school. I have asked for the stop sign to be placed out every year in the morning and am always sent the runaround to many different departments stating it’s always someone else’s decision to have it out or for my kids to walk two blocks away down the busy street to cross when it’s kist across the street. Can’t belive so many would deny my children and I a safe walkway.

One of the main reasons that people get hit by cars are because the driver can’t see them or the sun is in the drivers eyes so it’s kind of marshalltowns fault Christian got hit by a car the sun was in the sun was probably in the drivers eyes, and trees prevent that because they block the sun

This needs to happen in Marshalltown! Too many kids have to cross the streets to walk home or get to their ride's vehicles.

the city truly needs crossing guards at all schools my granddaughter goes to the same school as christen did and it breaks my heart that her friends life was taken and it scares me that could of been her there is no one helping childrean cross the street to get to their parents or even get on the other side to walk home lets make our town a bit safer for our children and get them some help crossing the street when schools start or ends thats the busy time of day with school and people rushing to work not paying any attention on whats around just in a rush to get to work etc with other distractions as well that comes along with busy traffic so please get some crossing gards for these schools to help keep our lovely children safe #marshalltownstrong #keepingmarshalltownkids safe
