Outraged by this decision by the City of Brantford. CRAA does amazing work. This coming from somebody who has helped out in the past.

This needs to continue. The volunteers with the CRAA have done an awesome Jon this past 15 years. Let them keep up the great work for another 15. I'm a resident and tax payer of Brampton and I stand firm with this issue and my opinion.

City of Brampton should be ashamed. There is no cost to them and there are many benefits and no negative effects of having tree's along the banks of the river. What were you thinking when you made the decision to stop tree planting?

Streambank trees help keep the water temps cool in summer and this reduces toxic algae growth. Streambank tree planting strengthens the banks and reduces erosion during high water events.

Shame on you City of Brampton! Countless volunteers have donated their time and efforts to improve this watershed and this is how you treat their contributions?

As an original founding member and first VP of CRAA I am outraged that the City of Brampton has asked CRAA to stop planting trees along the Credit. Tree planting is one of the easiest and most effective environmental restoration activities with a diverse range of environmental benefits from erosion control, bank/shoreline stabilization, lowering water & air temperature, carbon sequestration, and wildlife & aquatic habitat creation to name a few. Shame on you Brampton!
