The preciousness of childhood resonates with everyone, but unfortunately today some children don't have the freedom to experience a childhood because they are forced into spending their time working to earn a living. In a developing country like India poverty is the root of child labor, so it can be safely said that as long as poverty exists child labor will exist in India. However, it is necessary for this social injustice to be be terminated from society and we can start working towards eradicating this injustice by helping elevate the state of the poor in India. By creating a national minimum wage, we can help everyone earn enough money to support themselves and their family, this way people would not have to force their children into working instead of studying. Also, this mindset that employing children is cheaper and so a better option than employing adults will hopefully come to an end.

It is not about minimum wages alone. Simultaneously make employment of a child labour an criminal offense. Minimum wages are for adults and education, food and shelter for children.

I completely agree with you. Poverty is the root of most social evils in India and if we can eradicate poverty and cheap labor we can help a huge chunk of the population.

High time people start appreciating the value for the help the hire. Its unfortunate but true, in India labor is the cheapest commodity and employers abuse the use of labour in ways unimaginable at times. This minimum wage law will help ensure a very basic standard of living for the numerous workers out there. It undoubtedly is the need of the day.

It is more than high time that the minimum wages issue is addressed. Lack of any regulation regarding this is a root cause of a lot of misery and one of its worst manifestation is poverty and child labour.

By having no minimum wage, not everyone is equally payed; therefore, not everyone cannot afford their homes and their children will then have to work and not go to school.
