The petitioners urge the Aquino government to heighten the country's disaster preparedness and response parameters from any worst-case to apocalyptic levels.
The frequent earthquakes now occurring in the Southern Philippines and farther down from Indonesia to New Zealand suggests no less, a clash between the Indo-Australian and Euro-Asian plates.
The Moro Gulf, Indonesia and recently New Zealand, were hit. All those three mentioned are part of the Ring of Fire that has 452 volcanoes and of which comprises 75% of the world's active.
By that, any unconventional type of preparation which we would be asking the government to undertake is a no nonsense petition.
We believe that the Aquino government should exercise transparency and not to play hideous, if ever there is such disaster preparedness plan in anticipation of a catastrophic event of this magnitude.
And whether the Philippine government is already doing something in view of these impending threats or not, the public should be properly informed so that appropriate civilian action can be established expediently. If they cannot, we will take action, for even if we surely perish, we will not die lame nor without aim.
Individuals who are aware of these threats are encouraged to sign this online petition and create an impact, enough to drive the government to take immediate measures with great urgency.
We therefore appeal to the Filipino people to support this call for immediate presidential action.
The ground keeps shaking every other week and we have no idea what to do. The government needs to stop being so quiet and tell us where to go if the big one hits.
